Budget corned beef sandwich
Is there a good deli that sells a corned beef sandwich for less than $10 in Manhattan or down the L line? I was recently bemoaning the fact that the only place I can get one where I work is the 2nd Ave. Deli, which wants $15 for a sandwich! Has NYC failed me?
Korean Stone Pot---care and seasoning?
I hate to barge into a thread with my own question, but other than bibimbap, what do you use your dolsots for?
Kitchen tools from around the world
Hey guys, I'm just looking for a list of interesting kitchen tools from around the world. Stuff like a ddukbaegi from Korea, or a Tip Khao from Laos. Neat, strange cookware that most folks have probably have never heard of.
A history of gelatin?
I've been looking to get my hands on this book since the start of this thread. I didn't realize it was so useful in terms of history, though. I was wanted it for industrial information. That's pretty exciting that it has both, so thanks!
Learning new cuisines online?
Hey guys, I’ve been researching schools that teach European cuisine. I hope you’re able to direct me a bit, because my request seems rare--an online course about European cuisine. Do you know any European schools that have something like that? An interactive way for people to learn and experience new cuisines without undertaking a trip overseas?
Thanks for the help!
Online culinary courses
has anyone on here ever done online culinary classes? cooking, baking, pickling, wine, tea, whatever? recommendations?
A history of gelatin?
Hey fellas. Right now I'm working on a project for a food magazine researching the history and use of gelatin. Thing is, searches of google and the NY Public Library proved pretty fruitless. I wondered if anybody here had insight into the subject, or an idea of some sources to check out to better understand the culinary history of gelatin. Most of what I can find is medical or industrial.
Best locally made condiments?
Hey fellas,
Give me some recommendations on the finest ketchups, mustards, hummuses, soy sauces, tapenades, etc. that are made local to Los Angeles. Oh yeah, NO HOT SAUCE. Gotta branch out, you know?
Best hot sauce in the LA area? Bottled or not.
Best hot sauce in the LA area?
Doesn't even have to be bottled or orderable, even if I can only get it on a taco from a certain cart or in a hamburger from Montebello or something, just tell me what the best hot sauces from the LA region are!
