They reshot those scenes, but now that POWLA has settled her lawsuit, maybe they will reedit the old footage and air it instead....decisions, decisions....stay tune

Boring, boring and why do they repeat the last week episodes?? And what happened to the Paula Deen appearance...they should have aired that segment to augment the lovely troll.

Costco food finds - 1st quarter 2012 [old]

Bought these about a month ago at Jacksonville Costco....nothing to write home about, should have helped yourself to one during the demo. They are smaller than normal dumplings, no flavor at all. I steam mine, then mix a sauce together to spice them up and it still doesn't help much.

BYOB in West Suburbs (St. Charles, Geneva, Batavia)

Had a great time and food at Al Capones Hideaway tonight and a decent $7.00 glass of chianti from their wine list, and the table next to me brought their own bottle of wine, so they must allow for corkage, but didnt ask how much. There is also an old porcelain bathtub when you walk in the front door that the original owners (1917) brewed gin for Al and his cronies. Great place and old school food, just make sure to take your GPS if you're not local.

Slim Pickins? Need help with restos near Dunnellon

After an afternoon of cruising, fishing and floating down the rainbow river, would love to find a decent place to have a cocktail and some decent food. Not lookin for barbq, fish fried in old oil and no chains. Know that this is not the culinary capital of florida, so definitely willing to travel. Any suggestions?

Whoops, my bad. I didn't pay attention to the author of the original post, I was more aware of Miss E's original post. BTW, forgetabout Harry's Rev and head to Celebration or Disney for a nice meal.

I'm so glad this post came up....are they still distributing their soups?? I dug through my cupboards and found a can of their famous Romaine soup inwhich the label says "it has been served in all the Governor's mansions and Apollo flights to the moon." I am afraid to open the can because it might end up flying to the moon through my kitchen!! Having eaten and stayed there several times back in the 70's, I think the whole scam, restaurant, B&B, soups was a marketing scam beautifully executed by Carl Hinshaw, the head honcho of the family. I remember articles in Gourmet, Horizon and the rest about how this whole enterprise was the cat's meow. Back then, it was in the middle of nowhere but people came from all over to eat that awful chicken liver & grapefruit mess, much less the rest of the bland, expensive food. I will never forget the first time I dined and stayed there, after dinner, running to the tiny, tiny bathroom in my dusty, dirty room to expunge my dinner contents, I hear this awful, loud clatter, like the whole building was shaking and coming down. To my dismay, it wasn't Santa and his reindeer, it was a private plane taking off less than 15 feet from my head in the toilet! All I could think of was, why didn't they take me away from this place with them!

jewish food in jacksonville?

Orlando is probably the closest and best bet for a jewish deli. Worman and Leibowitz family had the only 2 delis in town and they are now both closed. There is a large contingent in Jacksonville so it IS a shame there is nothing that caters to them as well as the rest of us. But Orlando is still not going to beat Wolfowitzs in Boyton and Boca.

Best Eats in Dunnellon, FL

Good luck, Sweet Polly is right, it's a wasteland. Crystal River is the only ticket and great seafood market there is you have a kitchen. You could also catch some nice, fat bass out of the rainbow river and cook those also!

Jacksonville- Best Asian Market

Lucy, welcome to jax, home of lackluster chowhound activity, restaurants and food shopping!
But, don't fret, try Jax Oriental Market on St Augustine Rd
http://jacksonville.citysearch.com/pr...
nothing like chinatown in LA or Montreal, but great selection of fresh produce, fruits that asians love and just starting to carry BBQ pork and roast duck, but not hanging on hooks, in plastic wrap from the resto they bought in the same strip mall and WAY overpriced, but the best market I have found yet in Jax!

Courtyard Jacksonville Butler Boulevard - nearby eats?

Had lunch @ X the other day just to reaffirm yours and my opinion of not so great. Place was packed and service was good, but just nothing to write home about. I guess I keep remembering that its the same owners as the Loop and the food is about as imaginative and tasty as their other endeavor.

Yeah, I agree noo. They put all those condiments on every table I guess so you can "have it your way" but I find most of their food bland. #24 pork is the best, but you really have to spin that condiment tray to finish it off.

Make sure you get it to go, because you need earplugs to stand all the noise when you eat there. I wish they would do something about the acoustics in that place.
