Catering in Glendora?
thank you all--im going to have fun this weekend trying them all out!
Catering in Glendora?
I need catering for lunch for about 100 people. We recently moved to Glendora and have no idea where to start looking--Id rather have something fairly local--
any type of cusine is fine--
thanks!
restaurant for delivery around Glendora?
I need a restaurant or caterer for a party--we can pick up the food. Preferably Asian . . . . any recommendations? Im new to the area and have no clue!!
Any recommendations for a personal chef?
This is for a dinner party with about 10-12 people. Id like a chef that will come to the house and make the food with some interaction (not much)--
any cusine and price range is fine.
thanks!
Best Indian Lunch Buffet?
I hope it is not the same owners as in artesia--avoid the artesia location at all costs--it is filthy on most nights, and the service is horrible
Chef's Table at Inaka Seafood
thanks--im thinking of making reservations for my husband's b-day next month . . . cant wait!
Dine LA - share your thoughts on places you've been
Went to Sushi Roku in Pas night before last . . . Yes, i know it is not known among foodies for its out of the world sushi but I figured I was meeting a friend in Pas for dinner so it was worth a dry for Dine LA prices. Anyways we sat down and were handed the regular menu with no insert etc on the Dine LA option, so I asked. The server looked at me like she had no idea what i was talking about, so I asked again, and she said she would go check--she came back with the menu. We both ordered the trio of apps--which was way yummy--
then we had the sushi sampler--good sushi, fresh and perfect. For dessert I had the chocolate volcano, and she had the sorbet.--both were actually really good (yes, I sound suprised because im really picky about desserts)--
all in all a good meal for the price--
R.I.P. -- Aun Deli and Siena (both in Pasadena)
Wow! I just went to Aun last week?--there was no indication it was closing! :(
Santa Monica by the Pier recs please
Thanks everyone, right now im leaning towards Anisette for lunch, and Musha for dinner . . . even if are going a little above budget . . and def hitting up the Sat farmers market. Ill post back next week and let everyone know how it goes!
Lunch in Cerritos - Gluten Free
There is this place called crabalicous, it is on south street in a small strip mall--
but they have amazing basil or garlic flavored whole crabs (and other stuff)--but we usually get the crab and some shrimp over plain rice--no gluten. Although the restaurant is not gluten free specifically, so if her allergies are severe and the kitchen has to be gluten free, then it wont work.
wedding caterers/restaurants in LA
Most Indian restaurants will do a tasting, so I guess it depends on what you are looking for. I have been to olympic collection three times for events, and each time the food was outstanding--we have another wedding reception to attend there in March and are looking forward to it--if you are willing to go on faith then they have tons of options from what i have experienced--so you would be able to pick and choose.
pasadena recs, please?
Euro Pane has the yummiest breads!
and if you are willing to go up to Lake: Wolfe Burger is a good lunch spot--more than just burgers
--also near the ice house there is Cafe Aun-great little Japanese influenced place for lunch
Santa Monica by the Pier recs please
We are staying this weekend at a friend's apartment right next to the Pier. I'm looking for recs for breakfast/lunch and dinner that are not super pricey (less than 30pp for dinner and under 20 pp for lunch) and that are kid friendly--
I'd rather not do anything too touristy-
so what are the must dos? Thanks!
Been to Maison Akira lately?
In Pasadena . . . I wanted to try it out a while back but never did. I havent heard much about it if at all on the boards lately. . . .is it worth going now?
good/bad expereinces please!
thanks!
Dinner rec needed - Pasadena area - anyone have a great experience lately?
I just got on to ask the same thing! thanks for the post, Im anxiously waiting for responses.
Tirupathi Bhimas Not So Good
We went to woodlands after all the great reviews. The dosas were just so-so and the place was filthy--the floors were littered with food and other debris.
For dosas--try either surti farsan or jay Bharat. Jay Bharat is across the street from Tirupathi Bhimas and much better.
Ruth's and Chris for happy hour?
I asked around--the server indicated it is one of "their best kept secrets" if they advertised it wouldnt help, as there was already standing room only (and all the tables were reserved)--but perhaps it is only at the Pasadena location--try calling the one near you before you go!
Pasadena Recommendations
I went to BarCelona a year ago and it was horrible and then I went two weeks ago--they have a new chef consulting, and even though were were just there for happy hour, we tried several of their tapas dishes--the server was well versed in the menu and made some great suggestions. The good thing is that the plates are small so that you can experiment on things you normally might not try.
Ruth's and Chris for happy hour?
Ok --so I went! I was great! their specialty drinks were all $5--I had a pomegrante martini
the food was great! you could choose either 2 bites or 3 bites of their signature appitizers --
they are slightly smaller portions of the regualr sized appitizers
I choose the 3 bites of course! --I got the ahi tuna, the crab cakes, and stuffed mushrooms--
My husband got the sliders, the ahi and another cold crab appitizer
other appitizers around the table were the shrimp cocktails, and seared beef
yummy!--and super cheap!-- $10 for the three bites and $7.50 for the two bites
the only catch is that happy hour is only mon-fri from 5-7 and the bar area is really crowded so you need to make reservations even for the bar for happy hour-
our apps were a little late coming out so they comped all of our drinks . . .
Ruth's and Chris for happy hour?
No--Ive been to McCorkmick's happy hour-
I did a search on Yelp--and called the restaurant--they do indeed have a happy hour with appitizer specials--at least at the one in Pasadena--
i just wanted to know if anyone had tried the speciala and could recommend any--
thanks!
Ruth's and Chris for happy hour?
sorry I should have been more specific, Ruth's and Chris steakhouse in Pasadena.
Pasadena Recommendations
I second the Azeen's rec--even their vegetarian options are great! The staff is super friendly and attentive as well-- a big plus in my book.

Best Happy Hour in Pasadena?

So far we have been to:
Bodega
Bar Celona

Singapore style Chilli or peper crab?
I lived in Singapore for two years--lately I have been absolutely craving both the Chilli crab and the pepper crab. Any suggestions? I tried this place Crablicious in Artesia that someone recommended, which was good, but not even close to the Singaporean flavors . . .
Best Dim Sum?
My family has been going to Ocean Star for years, but I'm getting pretty tired of their fare--any sugestions for Sunday dim sum?
