Your favorite BYOW restaurant? Bitoque Portugese, not the BBQ chicken type place, more like Ferreira style of food. Great menu, and service. It is located just west of Atwater near Rose de Lima. Very nice atmopshere with an open kitchen concept. I have recommended to several people and they all come back with good reviews. |

Chien-Chaud Victoire (Great Hot Dog Place In Montréal) They may have already moved. The sign on their door, in December when I was there, said as of January, 2011. Address above is correct. I am presumming they are in the food court of the building, but I may be wrong. Agree they are great hot dogs and frites. Maybe not the best but certainly in the top 10 in Montreal area. The servers are entertaining, if you watch them for a bit, it is quite fascinating to see how they work together. |

Special New Year's Eve Dinner for Two? How about Nuances at the Casino. Great view, must be lots of fun. I have not been but maybe someone else can comment on it. |

At Jean Talon Market, there is a spice store on the East side, (H-Julien St. ) not far from the entrance to the underground parking...sorry do not know the store name. They have it in small bags with sesame seeds in it, not sure if it includes sumac. I am sure someone else on the board will know the name of the shop they carry all sorts of spices and spice mixes. Not very close to NDG but I know they carry it. |

Does anyone know where I can get some Serrano ham in the Montreal area. I have tried several charcuterie in my area but no success. |

Stores/bakers/butchers in Montreal Quite a few places in Verdun (the next neighbourhood West). Boucherie Pierre on Verdun Ave. cross street 6th Avenue has several types of housemade tortiere. baked beans as well as butcher counter. Charcuterie Viandal on d'Eglise near Verdun Ave, very good butcher. Marche Tondreau, Verdun Ave btw Egan and Osborne, fresh baked breads and many prepared marinated meats. Also a large chain grocery store on Wellington near the entrance to the Champlain Bridge- very close to Pt. St. Charles. Second Atwater Market if you don't have time to search these out. |

Stella Etrella bakery on Duluth, one block east of St. Laurent makes this cake. You may have to order in advance. I cannot confirm they are the best in town but you will certainly get on there. |

I use a slow cooker, (crock pot) put everything in the night before and it is ready in the morning. Just a suggestion. |
