Ventura/Oxnard help?

I concur that bonanos in Ventura is great. For sushi I highly reccomend sushi Hanada on channel islands. Its true traditional eastern sushi. Not westernized. Need to approach the place with no preconceived notions. Mrs Olsens on Hollywood beach is a must for breakfast. They are voted in the top 50 in the US by esquire magazine. And I must end with bandits in Camarillo for BBQ. They are great.

New Wave for Gladstones??

Went here on a whim with my husband for an appetizer and a cocktail. In my opinion all SBE did to update gladstones was to clear out the peanut shells. The prices are outrageous. I was interested what the MP was for the king crab legs. It took our bartender to ask a server to ask the manager to tell us it was $180! That's for a pound. I guess it doesn't get ordered often for them not to know the price. Skip gladstones till it gets an update worthy of it's location.

Westside Chinese?

Bao dim sum house on Beverly is a true gem. Unlike traditionally made dim sum that sits on carts, they make everything fresh to order. You can so tell the difference. They have non dim sum items to order as well.

Two weeks in Santa Monica...what to eat, where to eat it!

If you want a great LA Mexican experience you must go to El Cholo on wilshire an 11th. El Cholo is the original Mexican food place in LA. Chez Jay is a great dive bar with a good breakfast. Zengo is wonderful. Stay away from places directly on 3rd street but Santa Monica places are good. Britania bar across from hooters has great prices lunch specials and pints.

Help please!

The Bazaar is a fun experience but I find the food to be lacking in soul. I would go with Melisse or Rivera.

ISO breakfast in Santa Monica - takes reservations a plus

Jinkys is marginal at best. A step up from Denny's.

Breakfast in Silverlake?

Fred 62. It's 24 hours and they have great breakfast options. I love the Monte cristo and the huevos rancheros.

Mexican (especially huevos rancheros) or Dim Sum off 101 between Burbank and Thousand Oaks?

Bao dim sum house on Beverly. It's not exactly near the 101 but it's great. Some purists proably wouldn't like it cause they don't do carts. Everything is made fresh to order. After going there I don't even care that they don't do carts.

best al pastor tacos on the west side?

Cactus tacos on vine in Hollywood. They only serve though after dark. Well worth it.

Your favorite places for breakfast in Ventura?

I agree that Tuttis is great, especially on a nice day. Sit outside. But be patient with service. Mrs Olsens is pretty good but be ready to wait a while before you can get in if you have a party larger than 2. The imporium in Ojai is even better than Mrs Olsens. And Zzyzx in Camarillo is a wonderful breakfast place.

Any good burritos on the Westside?

Loteria grill at the farmers market has the best burritos. Though I am not a person for shredded beef but there's is great.
