We did go there on Saturday night. My family (85 year old mother, 89 year old step-father,brother,husband andI I) had a GREAT meal. We started with 2 orders of Oysters Mosca followed by spaghetti Bordelaise(sp) and chicken cacciatore. It was great!!

Mosca's

I will be there with my husband of 38 years, my 60 year old brother, and my 86 year old mother on Saturday. We will celebrate what was , what is, and what could be!! Yes, that means we will also have wine. New Orleans area dining will prove to be, hopefully, a memorable time!!

Pied de Cochon - another great meal

A group of 6 of us were there last week. We were visiting from Texas. Never having been there it was a real experience. They sat us in the rear of the restaurant. It was so loud we couldn't even hear the waiter., One of our group wears a hearing aid ,and it was killing him. We ordered a glass of wine and continued on .Another one of our group got up quietly and went to ask the host if we could be put at another table. Remember, the place was FULL> a few minutes later the hostess came to our table and said a group at the front the restaurant was paying their bill, and she would move us up their shortly. She actually seemed pleased that she could accomondate us.

At our new quieter table, we looked over the menu and ordered. The waiter looked at us and asked if this was our first visit. He said we had ordered 3 of the same appetizers and 3 of the same main courses. Then he proceeded to tell us how we should order, what we should order and we should all share to get a taste of many dishes . We took his suggestions. We had a wonderful multi tasting meal. This place is SUPER. If you are in Montreal ,don't miss out --go there.

Which is best? Brunch or Dinner at Le Champlain at Hotel Frontenac

NEITHER! My husband and I were there this Monday evening. The food was just OK. The service was spotty. They needed more wait staff. The price was VERY EXPENSIVE. We knew this and were expecting something special. It wasn't.

Lunch btwn San Antonio and Austin

Salt Lick in Driftwood .Order the ribs. Bobby Flay was correct when he named them one of the best

Where in Corpus Christi area did you eat this week?

I think it would be interesting to those who live in or are passing through the Coastal Bend area if we would share any good eats that we have had at area restaurants . My husband and I have lived in Corpus Christi for 12 years we know the pickings are slim, nevertheless I'll begin. Saturday night we ate at Green Papaya. My husband had their flash fried chicken dish that is usually on the menu board. I had the # 18--a beef dish . Both were really delicious. We will definately return.

Sugar Land Take Out

My husband and I just got back from visiting my daughter, her husband, and 2 grand children(ages 4months and 2and a half) in Sugar Land . We didn't feel like cooking. My daughter suggested we get take-out from TGIFriday's.The experience was GREAT! Earlier in the day ,while my daughter and I were shopping ,we picked up a menu. When it was getting close to dinner we CALLED our To Go order in.The person taking the order was very friendly and helpful.Amazingly, they actually got the order correct. The ribs were good ,sizzling chicken and cheese - delicious, chicken sliders on ciabiatta bread with marinaria sauce--um,Jack Daniels flatiron steak cooked correctly -RARE.For the 2 1/2 year old we ordered the chicken fingers.

My husband and son in law went to pick up the food..It was ready when they got there. They did notice a HUGE party of ~ 45-50 people all going in at the same time. Curious to where in the heck they would seat them, my husband asked the bar tender. They have a party room for NO CHARGE . I think that will be a great place to use with friends and family when the 4 month old is baptized next month.

This restaurant was a pre-Katrina really good restaurant. It was on Esplanade a few blocks from Cabrini High School. Same side as the race track-- What was it's name???
