Scandinavian Christmas dessert?
I heartily second the krumkake idea. I grew up with that too, and my grandmother's krumkake so beautiful. My mom tried all sorts of different ideas with it, and had so much fun with it too. Especially if you're going to do fillings, it was nice because you could do them ahead of time.

Cooking classes in Portland, Oregon? Ideally for couples.
I am looking for a gift for my brother and his wife--they love to do things like this together. Really, what I want to do is give them a gift certificate and a calendar of Cooking Classes for Couples or something, but I'll make do with just Cooking Classes, especially if they are good! Does anyone have any good recommendations for a one-off cooking class in the Portland metro area? Thanks!
