In search of vintage knife...
My parents have a little pizza place in Ohio that's been open for about 35 years and they have been using the same Forschner pizza knife for a good bit of that time. They have been trying to find a replacement but can only find the newer models that have vinyl handles. For them that just won't do, so I'm trying to find an older one for them. It's probably about 18" long and has a wooden handle on one end. It's saber shaped with a little metal plate over the pointed end for rocking it across a pizza. Can anyone recommend where to find something like this? Is there a good source online for used/vintage cutlery? I've been keeping my eye out on ebay but have yet to have any luck.
Thanks!
anybody eaten at brasserie 420 in Rome?
In my research for dining options for upcoming trip to Italy I have come across Brasserie420. It specializes in beer and fish. Based on their website I am really impressed by the beer selection, but I'm wondering if anybody has had any experience with the food. Will probably go there for a beer or two but trying to decide if it's the place to have dinner as well. Thanks!
Looking for wood fired bread bakery in Tuscany, Umbria or Emilia-Romagna
My wife and I are heading to Italy for a two week belated honeymoon in January. We will be spending most of our time in & around San Gimignano, Tuscany but will also be passing through Bologna & an as yet undecided location in Umbria. I am, of course, doing all kinds of research on where to eat here and elsewhere. One thing that I am very interested in but am having a hard time finding is a really great baker that still uses a wood fueled oven. Any suggestions? Heck, I will also take any suggestions on general eating as well. Not looking for anything fancy just great traditional fare and any sort of delicious cured pork. Thanks!
