any secrets to a great tuna fish sandwich?

Fry some minced garlic and ginger, diced carrot and celery in toasted sesame oil; add the tuna with some rice vinegar, tamari and lots of sambal. Put it in a wrap some green leafy vegetable. You will tuna-gasm in your pants.

Do you have a favorite I'm-alone-now-so-nobody-will-know favorite dish?

Yes! I definitely eat the same thing: grilled cheese sandwiches with Kraft Singles. It's just not the same with real cheese. Also, I always have to cut the sandwiches into quarters, arrange in a ring around the outside of a plate and put a huge pile of ketchup in the middle for dipping.

Other than this, the other most disgusting thing I eat when no one is looking is an entire box of Kraft Dinner (Macaroni and Cheese for all you Americans out there), also usually with ketchup.

Best Pizza in Winnipeg?

Gusto has the best pizza in Winnipeg, no contest.

Best Pizza?

Since when is pretentious a flavour? If that's what Gusto's pizza tastes like, then consider me a fan of pretentious tasting pizza. Snooty? It's a nice restaurant...so what?

To me, this is what pizza is. This is the real sh*t, like they eat in Italy. Everything else in town is bastardized American-style. If you like pizza, live in Winnipeg and haven't checked out Gusto yet, you owe it to yourself to pay the little bit extra. The margherita is amazing in its classic-ness and the one (forget its name) with prosciutto, fig jam and arugula is out of this world. As far from bland as you can get.

Mmmmm, pretentious flavour.

Best poutine in Manitoba?

Chez Ashton? No...there are so many better places. La Banquise, Patatti Patatta; I even prefer Lafleur to Chez Ashton.

To answer your question...I don't know of any acceptable poutine in Winnipeg and doubt there is any to be found beyond making your own.

Recipes You've Never Heard of Outside Your Family

Nice! I love cold tuna but have never thought of putting cans of it in the fridge. Duh!

Recipes You've Never Heard of Outside Your Family

Yes! Someone else knows of peanut butter with pickles. I'm not a mayonnaise guy, so I would just have sandwiches with peanut butter and pickles. My dad got that from somewhere. Everyone I've told about it thought it sounded disgusting but after trying it had to agree that it's delicious.
