Wedding Cakes in Calgary
Can anyone help with suggestions or share their personal experiences with bakeries? We are looking for a memorable cake for our wedding. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
bad pizza in calgary
Ownership at Demetris has not changed. I spoke to the owner about a week ago when I picked up a pizza. This is the same man as it always has been. He did mention to me that since he has been getting older, he has had to close earlier on Friday and Saturday nights, as it is too much work. That is unfortunate, he has good pizza!
Indian Catering Rec's?
I would second Tiffin. I could be mistaken, but I do believe the last time I was there I saw a sign that said they now deliver those types of orders.
Piq Niq Calgary
I was wondering what people thoughts were on Piq Niq. I have always wanted to give it a try, just never got around to it. Its been around for a long time, it must be pretty good. Right?
Calgary recommendation -- fun / good dining on expense account?
Personally, not so impressed with Rouge the last time I was there. The food was good, the service not so much.
What to do with extra freebie
You could ask for a substitute, the worst that would happen is they would say no. Also if you don't mind paying a few dollars more, you may be able to "upgrade" your pop to something that you will drink.
Best Value Dining in Calgary
Okay, tried Jonas' a couple of nights ago. Good value I would say, lots of food. Rather boring and bland though, expected more. We had the schnitzel and the chicken papricash (sp?). Started with the goulash and the chicken soup. Basically nobody else in the restaurant. Really not that impressed, certainly would not rush back.
What's the #1 Thing That You Eat and Say, "Wow That REALLY Hit The Spot"?
I was thinking more along the lines of the last thing I ate that really hit the spot. Rainey, you are thinking too far into the question
Best Value Dining in Calgary
I've never tried Jonas', I've been wanting to. Seems I am always thinking of them on Monday.
They are closed on Monday. Too bad for me!

Alberta Beef! Nothing beats a nice ribeye done on the BBQ.

Thanks. That fits the bill, I'll have to give it a shot!
Best Value Dining in Calgary
What are peoples suggestions for value dining in Calgary. For the days you cannot afford fine dining and want to have a decent meal at a sit down restaurant. Places you leave from thinking the price was almost to good to be true. Any part of the city is okay, more centralized would be preferred. Please include any type of cuisine.
Looking forward to hearing everyones suggestions.
The elusive search for a great sandwich and soup restaurant (Calgary)
Decent soup at Keith's as well. Super friendly staff there too!!
Any news on Sandros?
I have been there a few times before the fire. I never found a problem with the service. I am not one to ever be described as looking wealthy, nor did we ever visit with a large group. Not outstanding service; Nothing I would complain about either.
The elusive search for a great sandwich and soup restaurant (Calgary)
Primal Grounds (3003 37 Street SW) is one of my favourite places for soup and sandwiches. Personally not such a fan of their coffee offerings though. West side of the city, maybe on your way home?
Character Eateries in Calgary
If a full service restaurant isn't required, try Tiffin Curry and Roti Hut (188 28 Street SE).
Not really a "Character" place, but decent indian food at a fair price. Never been disappointed there.
