Best bagels in Denver?

My husband and I love love love Diane's on Parker Road and Dartmouth but it's a bit far from our new house now so now it's more of a treat instead of a common trip. I would appreciate any recs in the Denver area - SE, CC, WP, Downtown, etc.

Thanks!

Anyone eaten at Tocabe?

I love it too. I don't get there too often because of its location but the meat is so good, the fry bread is nice and crispy and I love the sauces.

Meal/restaurant ideas for diabetic in DENVER?

I am almost 8 months pregnant and just diagnosed with gestational diabetes. Luckily, it should only stick around until the baby's born but I LOVE going out to eat and need to find some good options for these last few weeks. Any suggestions??? Thanks! :-)

Rioja = seriously fantastic!

It's been on our list for a few years now and we finally made it down there. Wow, was it wonderful! We had the apple basil soup, fresh housemade mozz, smoked pork tenderloin, artichoke tortolloni and the hazelnut tortamisu. Everything was fabulous and our waiter was great too! It's a definite return in a month or so and next on the list is Euclid Hall! Yum yum!

Happy Friday!

Special Occassion Place in Denver

I would say The 9th Door or Luca D'Italia. Even thought Ondo's is in CC and it's tapas as well, 9th Door is much better, cheaper and has a better vibe. Luca is just tasty and great for special occasions. Have fun!

Critique my Denver list on food caliber and child-friendliness, please

My opinions....
pass on Pajama as it used to be better and now it's just meh
Park Burger is the BEST burger place in the area IMO - a MUST do!
Banzai has excellent sushi, it's in SE Denver and it's way cheaper than SD and others
Root Down is very tasty and has a great vibe - would be fine with a kid
I've heard really good things from friends about Euclid but haven't been yet....supposed to be great! Venue is one of my fave restaurants in town - their shrimp and grits as well as soups cannot be beat!

Have fun!

Key West - lunch restaurant recs please!!!!

Hubby and I will be in the area at the end of the month for one day and would love some fabulous, non-touristy recs. Any food would be great but I am guessing that the seafood is awesome. Thanks for your help!

Dinner suggestions in Hollywood near Stirling Road?

My husband and I are staying overnight before our cruise out of Miami. I would love an easy tasty restaurant rec - anything and everything - that is relatively close to this part of town. Thanks so much!

Near/in Tribeca breakfast, lunch and dinner eats?

Hi New Yorkers!

I'm going to visit a dear friend in NYC in September and I would LOVE to hit some fabulous restaurants. I love trying new things and I love hole in the wall, family owned, non-pretentious restaurants. Any ideas for must dos? I will be there Saturday afternoon to Monday evening. Thanks so much!!!

Moving To Denver Next Year...

I do NOT get this Snooze hype - I went once to the original location and had the pancake flight.....for a place that supposedly specializes in pancakes, these SUCKED. Really....I couldn't believe it and to top that, they were expensive! I think not!

Moving to Denver soon... Sushi?

My two faves in the area are Banzai Sushi and Sushi Sasa - BS is very casual and low key while SS is more upscale.

One more I forgot.....the best locally family owned Greek place IMO is Athenian in Aurora....so so good and the owner, Angie, personally comes around to greet everyone. Great service and even better food!

Moving To Denver Next Year...

I am originally from CA and struggled for years to find restaurants, especially good authentic Mexican. I have my faves below.....the hubs and I love to go out and try new restaurants and I prefer indepedent or family owned, small, low key restaurants....

Mexican
El Real De Minas - the one on Colfax is the only one to go to...fabulous Mexican from salsa to chile rellenos to spicy shrimp dishes
Santiago's - I am obsessed with breakfast burritos and theirs are the BEST in town. I frequent the location on Leetsdale but there are a few around town.

Italian
Pagliacci's - Italian place that's been around for YEARS, known for their minestrone, really good food
Saucy Noodle - since moving to Bonnie Brae I have been re-introduced to SN and it doesn't disappoint
Carmine's on Penn - great family style restaurant, love it!

Indian
Star of India - I am a huge CTM fan and theirs, IMO, is the best I've had in town, love their tomato soup and pakora too
Masalaa - wonderful hole in the wall vegetarian Indian place.....SO spicy and so tasty!

Middle Eastern ( still struggle with this one in terms of consistentcy)
Jerusalem - I like their vegetarian offerings but can be spotty......

Pizza
Bonnie Brae Tavern - wow, SO so good! We usually just grab it to go but you have to hang out at least once.....very quirky and been around forever
Anthony's - delivery pizza, NY thin crust style, sooooooooo good

Other recs (you didn't ask but...)
We LOVE breakfast out and a few of our faves are Sam's #3 (diner known for bfast, Mexican and Greek offerings), Lucile's (Creole and so very tasty), Bagel Deli (great Jewish deli hole in the wall and family owned, love their bfasts as well as their matzo ball soup) and Sunrise Sunset (total dive but heavenly.....I don't usually like pancakes out but man oh man, between those and their spicy menu, super tasty! they have a few locations around town but locally owned)
The 9th Door (tapas) - great date night vibe, not low key but SO tasty
GB Fish and Chips - if you are a fan, they are the best in town!
Big Fat Cupcake - love their cupcakes, kick butt frosting and unique flavors
Cherry Cricket (burger joint) - I dont' eat beef but their turkey burger is FAB and the hubs love the regular ones, customizeable toppings and awesome onion rings...been around forever

That's all I can think of for now......enjoy and welcome to Denver! I can tell you that the only thing I miss about CA is the beach...CO is great!

Jewish style deli food in Denver?

IMO, NYDN is HORRIBLE.....quality has really gone downhill over the years and the service is not good.

My absolute fave in the area, besides Zaidy's which has already been mentioned, is Bagel Deli off Hampden and I-25.
