Intimate dinner - post pregnancy
Hi,
I'm looking for to have an intimate dinner with my husband - sort of a 'just the two us' dinner after a month and a half of substantial newborn baby focused time. He's pretty plain Jane in taste. Nothing too exotic - Traditional American, Italian, French, maybe new American in taste. No steakhouse unless it is romantic. Pls exclude Two if by Sea. Looking to spend $150 - $200, with 1 drink each (have to take care newborn once we get one).

Food recs in Southampton
We're staying at the Reefs this week. I've read good things about Coconuts at the hotel. Also the food at the Fairmont's restaurants seems to get good reviews. I'm not sure how much of the island we'll be visiting. I don't seeing us going 1 hour away.
Can you recommend any places nearby? Reasonably priced.

Dinner at Eleven Madison Park - Impressive, Sometimes Spectucular, Ultimately Disappointing
I went on Tuesday for dinner. While the captain may have been ignoring me (which never occurred to me think about), it was clear to all that I was there with close friends and our intention was to talk, talk and eat. The other staff was flawless. Could not empty my water glass for the life of me.
The meal was very, very good. Clearly well thought out and executed. For me, I loved half the meal and the other half was take it or leave it. The granola - simply out of this world.
EMP tasting menu
Hi Chowhounds,
I'm going to EMP on Tuesday and will have their 4 course menu. In your opinion, which ingredients should I try? Will eat anything but raw fish (pregnant).
I know there's tons of postings on the site but I don't think anyone has asked this exact question....

I made a reservation at the Scandia house. The front desk told me that Beachcomber Inn was closed and a different restaurant was opening up at it's venue. (???). We were looking forward the B.I. Hope it does reopen. We are there in June.

I'm looking for a rec in Petersburg, Alaska. It's a small fishing village in the Inside Passage. Has anyone ever been and have a suggestion on where to eat? Will be there for 24 hours. A place to stay would be appreciated as well.

What's your favorite bar of a restaurant to eat at? Have tried Babbo, David Burke Townhouse. Like the intimate feel of the bar and I don't need a reservation to get into the nicer restaurants (although I do have get there early).

I'm being taken out to dinner by a vendor. I have my choice of just about anywhere in the city but of course I'm stymied as to where to go. Given the economy, it should be no more than
$150 pp. French, Italian, New American is a go.
office xmas party
Help! I need some ideas on where to have a xmas party for 12 ppl. Food - italian or new american. Pricing around $25 entrees. We'd like to avoid a private dining room. A restaurant with a large round table is preferred - like Del Posto - but Del Posto is out. We already had one office dinner there. Any suggestions???
