Cool/Trendy restaurant in LA

Thanks for all the suggestions! I would prefer to go someplace in the Hollywood/West Hollywood area but I'm willing to travel if it's worth it. I'm also willing to pay a little extra for food that's really great or unique.

Cool/Trendy restaurant in LA

I have a friend coming in from out of town this week and need some suggestions on where to eat Saturday night. He's in his mid-20's so I'm looking for something casual, unique, cool and/or trendy but not off the charts expensive. I was thinking about Street but haven't been myself. I would love the input of all the foodies out there. Thanks in advance for your help!!

Birthday Dinner Suggestions

Thanks iheart...I took him to Mastro's last year and he liked it. I made reservations at BOA just in case. We like going to cool places but we're not into the whole "seen and be seen" thing so I hope I made a good decision. We just like great food in great surroundings.

Samtron...love the Edison but haven't been in a while. Great suggestion!

Birthday Dinner Suggestions

My boyfriend's birthday is next Tuesday so I'm looking for a really good restaurant to take him to. He's not into fish or seafood though. I hear BOA is great...anywhere else to consider? Also thinking of the Polo lounge for pre-dinner cocktails. Any other cool places to grab a drink?

Thanks all!

Anything worth checking out in Pasadena/Altadena?

You all have been great! Thank you so much for not only the restaurant suggestions but the menu items too! We're actually going to go to one of the restaurants tonight so again, thank you!

Do any of these places deliver? We've ordered Thai from some place that put a doorhanger on the front door but the food wasn't very good (don't remember the name of the place off the top of my head). We're in East Pasadena in the 210/Altadena area.

Anything worth checking out in Pasadena/Altadena?

No, Arcadia is fine too! Just a short drive for us...

Anything worth checking out in Pasadena/Altadena?

Thanks everyone for the suggestions! Much appreciated and please do keep them coming!!

Anything worth checking out in Pasadena/Altadena?

I like all kinds of food so I don't have any real preference on cuisine. Some of my favorites are anything Asian or possibly French Bistro, Mexican or standard American fare. Steakhouses are great too however I've usually found them to be a little overpriced considering what you get for the money. Although I enjoy fine dining sometimes, I mostly prefer something a little more casual.

Anything worth checking out in Pasadena/Altadena?

I don't know the Pasadena or Altadena areas well at all. Anyone have suggestions on great places to eat that aren't chains? I'm open to anything...

Best cupcakes in LA??

This place looks awesome! Thanks so much!

Best cupcakes in LA??

I'd like to send a dozen (maybe 2) cupcakes to a friend at his office as a congratulations gift but don't know who to call. They need to be able to deliver them to his office downtown. If someone does the individual "mini" style cupcakes, that might work even better for sharing but overall I'm just looking for the best cupcakes in town! HELP!

Good First Date Place

Typically restaurants with menu prices around $20 or less are more casual where the higher price restaurants are sometimes a little more stuffy. For a first date I want casual and laid back so we can both relax and get to know each other. Rest assured if he wants to spend over $20 on his entree, it won't kill the possibility of a second date!

Good First Date Place

You guys are great! Thank you for all the great suggestions! I'll check them out ont eh web. i have no doubt I'll find something. Thank you again Chowhounders!

Good First Date Place

I've got a first date with a guy on Saturday night and I'd love some suggestions on where to go. Somewhere preferably in the Beverly Hills/West Hollywood/Hancock Park/Hollywood/Miracle Mile area would be best. I'm looking for a casual place with great food and awesome decor and service but with reasonable wine/drink, appetizer and entree prices (entrees around or under $20). Also, we're a gay couple so someplace we'd feel comfortable is best. One of us is not a seafood eater. Please help!!!
