Desperately Seeking Foie in Pittsburgh
To clarify, yes a while back during all the ire and protests places like Le Pommier were defaced, had doors/locks glued shut, etc. so most everyone gave in. Then, most recently, The City Paper covered a newish restaurant "Toast!" and featured a photo and talk of their foie dish... apparently they ran into issues because when I contacted them they stated they did not server it at all anymore. This was just a few months ago. I replied that even if it wasn't on the menu I'd be prepared to pay for a special request, and they still turned me away.
It is neigh impossible to find around here, and it is a shame. I have an email into Bona Terra, but have not heard back. I'll check with the Terrace Room, never even thought of it. And I'm not looking for tacos, but it is intriguing. Bona Terra's heavy handed flavoring is kind of a turn-off even if they do still serve it but beggar's can't be choosers.

Sadly so many chefs/owners were the target of attacks and damages that I cannot find a single spot serving this much maligned culinary delight anymore. There has to be at least one or two spots left without me having to flee to neighboring states. Anyone?
