Cocco's in Flemington
I was at Cocco's last night, and they have some new chairs. The wooden ones were still there (I assume the ones you found uncomfortable), but they also have large ones that are covered in fabric and have good cushioning and a solid back.
The gelato is still very good, and they have the best coffee in town, IMO. I like it strong.
What did your Mom always have on hand, that you NEVER do?
I keep powdered vitamin C (a/k/a ascorbic acid) in the pantry, though the spice rack is a good idea. It's an excellent, all-natural preservative and antioxidant. You need only a small amount. I use it in guacamole, pesto and any other perishable food that I want to keep for a few days. When I mix it in guacamole and vacuum seal the jar, the stuff stays fresh for over a week.

Best seasoning for tuna salad, tofu salad and soup is Spike (made by Gayelord Hauser). It comes with and without salt, and you can find it in any health food store or the organic section of a supermarket. It's a mixture of lots of herbs and spices.
Things I ate/drank in college that I will never eat again
OMG, I just laughed so hard, tears came to my eyes and I frightened the cat. Boiling whole wheat bagels in an antique chamber pot?? Oy vey!

Oh yes, I remember drinking Weidermans at George Washington (not to mention the trash can punch made from grain alcohol and bug juice). Weidermans was a step up from Iron City Beer, which was tasted like the waste water of steel mills.
