Nabisco's Royal Lunch Milk Crackers have been discontinued

Well, we just finished a pre thanksgiving feast without our Royally Unhealthy Stuffing..... My grandmother made this stuffing (crackers, onions, scalded milk, onions and saltpork). My Aunt carried on the tradition and now it is up to our generation. We have been in a tailspin since the discontinuation. This time the substitute was a horrible unsalted saltine atrocity made by a cousin. We all took a hopeful spoonful and then tried not to cry.

I am having thanksgiving at my house this year and my poor mother was like, what kind of stuffing are you going to make? with a hopeful look in her eye. I tried tempting her with sausage and cornbread and even shitake mushroom stuffing but she doesn't want it. So again, i will try to recreate the impossible. Big Sigh.

The Mrs Allison's weren't good enough for our recipe, and many of the other substitutes were sad...very sad.... i was thinking of trying this oyster cracker that I got with a cup of soup at Boston Market (they have been made the same way for 100 years) but I can only buy them 3 cases at a time 150 servings per case... a bit more than I need.

So I think I will search out the malaysian food market and see if I can find a substitute. Shame on Nabisco. Shame on them big time for destroying generations of tradition and breaking the hearts of so many.
