Anyone been to Darling's Diner? (phl)
I've been to Diners all my life and being here was the worst experience of my life. We went at night on a Monday night-desolate. Could the terrible reviews be why? The salad we ordered was very basic...how can you mess up a tomato, avocado, mixed greens, bean sprouts salad with no meat additions? The tomatoes were mushy and sour so we let our waiter know. After trying to locate him because he was notwhere in sight, time went by as we waited for fresh tomatoes...they never came. We asked about them and our waiter said he "wasn't aware" that we wanted fresh tomatoes...lol. What, has this guy waited tables before? Common sense tells any human being who has waited tables that if you complain about mushy and sour tomatoes, offer the customer fresh one's. Am I right or wrong here? Needless to say, the manager, she wasn't any better, we still were obligated to pay for the awful salad eventhough the rotten tomatoes ruined our appetite. I work hard for my money and I don't enjoy spending it on poor service and terrible food. Please don't waste your time going here, go to Sabrina's on Christian or a real South Philly Diner like Penrose where you will get a homecooked meal and are treated like family, not an outsider.
