REDFISH GRILL
I haven't been in about 10 years, but the Double Chocolate Bread Pudding is amazing. I found the recipe online and make it every once in awhile. Super rich and gooey!
need recs for new places
we prefer to be on the strip. Charlie Palmers also looks great. I think I will make reservations there too and then we can see what the cut of the week is.
Thanks for all of your help. I look forward to eating in Vegas, kid free.

Jaleo looks good, and in terms of L'Atelier, it is on my list.

need recs for new places
I looked at it, but since we are there for such a limited time, we would prefer not to have a 3+ hour long dinner with other people we don't know. But I will keep it in my head for another time. Any thoughts on Stratta?

need recs for new places
My hubby and I have been to vegas a few dozen times and have been to a lot of the restaurants in the past 5 years. However, we haven't really been to Vegas in the past 2 years (darn kids), and we are planning a 2 night get away.
We love the food at Aureole, Bartolotta, Rosemary's (sooo sad that they closed since we went there almost every time we went), LOS, Michael Mina Commander's Palace (again, very sad about no more martini lunches). Are there any special dinning menus (kind of like the Taste of Wynn last year) or newer restaurants that you would recommend? or any that have gone downhill and aren't worth a visit.
Thanks for your recs, you haven't steered me wrong.
Thanks again.
New Orleans in December with small kids
I am finally coming back to NOLA after being gone for 10years. I now have 2 small kids (1 and 3yo). We are going to be there in December, right before Christmas (since we are taking a cruise out of NOLA on the 24th). We are looking for some places to eat in the quarter that are reasonable, good food and good for kids (3 yo is great, but 1yo is a typical 1yo).
We are staying in the quarter and have no car, so we need everything to be walking distance if possible. I am looking for lunch and dinner options. I am CRAVING some good ol southern food. Also I would like ot find a lunch spot up near Tulane since we will be taking the street car up there one day to visit friends.
I am also looking for a fun family dinner with 10 of us. Prefer it to not be too expensive. My mom is set on going to Redfish Grill since she went there 10+ years ago and loved it. Not sure if it is still good or not. But again, need something fun, good and ok for kids.
some recs I have gotten are:

Thanks for your help.
Half moon bay take out/catering??
I am trying to find someplace in/near Half Moon Bay that will deliver food for about 50 people to a site in Half Moon Bay. I know we had tres amigos do delivery service one year, but I am looking for something else. It is for a non-profit group, so it can't be pricey. Any thoughts would be great since I am not familiar with the area.
Thanks
gaslamp recs
Meeting a friend in San Diego for a few hours and dinner. Looking for a great place for dinner in that part of town. Prefer something Italian or med or tapas or even mexican. Friend is not adventurous so a menu that is fun, but has a few safe options. Needs to have wine/bar options.
Thanks
sunday lunch
I have a good friend coming into town and is staying in the city. Looking for a good place for lunch on a sunday with plenty of vegetarian as well as meat loving options. I am okay with brunch, but would prefer more of a lunch. We will have a toddler in tow, but she will eat anything, but just want to make sure that the restaurant has high chairs.
thanks!
vegas quandary... recs needed
So hubby and I have been to vegas at least 2 dozen times, and have eaten at almost all of the main strip restaurants and some off (LOS and rosemarys). We are going for a quick 2 night trip without the baby and for his big 40. So I have reservations at Michael Mina and am trying to find the other night. Some of the thoughts were: Rao at Caesar's, Sinatra at Encore (neither we have tried) or going some place we have been before and enjoyed: fleur de lys, Aeurole, etc. However, most of the places we have been to, were 2 or more years ago (before baby) and I am not sure if they are still as good as they were the first time, or offer anything different this time around. Not looking to break the bank (read Alex) but don't mind spending up to about $150 each.
I would greatly appreciate any thoughts or new suggestions if possible. We want to stay on the strip since our time is limited.
thanks for your help, it is much appreciated for this indecisive foodie.
chocolates
I am looking to get a good box of chocolates as a thank you gift... any suggestions of where and what to get? I am looking for something on the peninsula between san mateo and palo alto... thanks!
South bay restaurant gift
Looking to get my parents a gift certificate to a restaurant in the Los Gatos/Saratoga/San Jose area. Looking for it to be about $200 for the two of them. Thought of Manresa and Plumed Horse but would like to have other options since I think they have been to both. Would even consider Santa Cruz too.
thanks!
Catering at Marine's Memorial Club
i have tried to post the photos, but they are too big of a file since they are from our photographer. We had the beef tenderloin with bernaise sauce and the potato crusted sea bass. They also did a vege pasta option for the vendors and the few vegs in our party. In terms of the apps, they were all great. I can't remember all of the ones we had, but the ones that I do remember were: onion/gorgonzola tartlet, smoked salmon with caviar and potato, beef tenderloin on polenta... the food was really good and the staff serving were great and incredibly professional and accomodating. If you can do the tasting, it is a great opportunity to meet some of the staff and to see/taste the food. MMC was very accomodating and had one of the bartenders my dad really like work our wedding. sorry about the late response.

Catering at Marine's Memorial Club
i had my wedding there 2 years ago, and it was fantastic. they took amazing care of us and i did not have to worry about one single thing about the day of. marianne and marian handled everything to the letter and then went above and beyond without even asking. The food was fantastic. my parents went with us to the tasting and had our favorites picked before hand thinking that we would "upgrade" our meals, which in fact we did not since the options that they gave us were amazing. If you want, I do have pictures of the food that we had on our wedding day that I would be willing to send you if you would like, the presentation was wonderful and they made sure that we (bride and groom) were fed and given all the appetizers to eat. We had our wedding in the crystal ballroom which was stunning.

weekend bbq?
trying to figure out what to grill this weekend when friends come over for dinner. We've done steaks many times, but I want something new. Can't be any shellfish, but I was thinking maybe some kind of chicken or a flank steak kind of thing.... anyone have any good suggestions.... much appreciated
Good Chow in San Carlos
I have several go-to places here in San Carlos. Santorini... good mediterranean that is quick and tasty. I usually get it for take out, but have gone there for lunch countless times. I also like Siamese Kitchen for quick thai, especially there mango/prawn thai lunch salad. it is quite filling and good blend of ingredients. Spasso has been a favorite for dinner. We have gone there a dozen times, and never been disappointed, .... well until valentine's day dinner where they had a fixed menu and it was just plain bad. but then again it was valentine's day. haven't been back since that night, but will try again at some point.
help... stew/soup too salty
i decided to add a tabelspoon of sugar and it definetly helped. there was no way i was going to add more of the veggies and stuff to it since it was already 6-8 servings for the 2 of us. thanks for the suggestions.

I have a few places in mind for a business dinner in sf. Group is eclectic and enjoys good food and bevereages. Budget, not much of an issue, but should be able to accomodate about 10 or so people. Also, don't want a place with a stict dress code. Thanks!
Wedding Reception Recs on a Budget??
i got married at the Marine's memorial club in SF... great location, beautiful classical sight. budget will be right around the price, maybe sligthly higher, but the staff made it completely worry free and provided amazing service and fantastic food options. We did two options, plus a vegetarian, with passed appetizers and sit down dinner. Their coordinators took care of it all. not to mention guests can say there and they give you an amazing suite for the weekend too!
