Best Burger in Park slope?

Just tried Bareburger and was impressed. If you're looking for a super traditional burger, I'd still do Double Windsor over it, but if you're looking for something a little different, there's PLENTY in that category and all really tasty. Veggie, Elk, Salmon, turkey, mushroom, lamb, venison, etc and amazing toppings. But the pistachio milkshake stole my heart...it also might have taken a few years off the old ticker too it but it was so freaking good.

Looking for recs on Nicoya Peninsula, Liberia and Arenal

Heading to Costa Rica in February with a few friends for a quick trip. We're heading to Arenal for a few days and then down to the beach. Still haven't picked a beach on the Nicoya Peninsula but we will travel for food. Anyone have suggestions? I've read a few of the suggestions for Arenal. Has anyone tried Gingerbread (http://gingerbreadarenal.com/restaura...) ?

Colorado Spgs for a week

I ate there almost 10 years ago (2002) when I was visiting a friend finishing up an culinary internship at the Broadmoor. Several of the chefs at the Broadmoor recommended it. It was the best meal of my life and...I've had some meals. I wouldn't say I'm a picky eater but I don't usually like being told what to order-in this case, we let the chef decide (everyone told us this was the way to go) and I have NO regrets. Every course was amazing. Every thing was cooked to perfection, seasoned just right, and so interesting! Nothing was typical but everything was amazing. I wish I could remember specifics but it was so long ago that I can't. I remember we had curried clam chowder with cilantro and it was incredible. I didn't think I liked clams at the time but I'm a total convert now. I think it's the mark of a true chef to be able to take something that diner thinks they don't like and transform it into a masterpiece that leaves the diner chasing that experience ever after. The ambiance was perfect-so cozy. Staff could not have been more attentive or accommodating. And we even had a table visit from the chef. I've lived in New York City, Paris, London and have traveled extensively...I would say this was the best meal of my life and I've been dying to go back ever since.

Best Burger in Park slope?

Agree with most of the recent posters- 12th Street Bar and Grill is outstanding, Bar Toto is good, haven't tried Sidecar but after reading all this, I'll be heading straight to the fried oysters and chicken. Double Windsor makes an amazing burger-the meat is seasoned perfectly and totally juicy.
Also, a little off topic but I seem to remember Hope & Anchor in Red Hook having pretty good burgers. It's been a few years since I had one but it sticks out in my mind as an excellent burger experience.

Looking for good donuts near Lake George/NoCo

Love apple cider donuts. I'll have to check them out. Would you recommend any of these places for birthday cakes? I just realized I'm also going to have to get a birthday cake.

Looking for good donuts near Lake George/NoCo

Thanks so much for the suggestions. I'll check them out next week when I'm up in the area. So weird that there aren't more donut options. You'd think there'd be tons...right?

Looking for good donuts near Lake George/NoCo

Anyone have any good donut recommendations for the Lake George region? Can do Albany/Troy/Saratoga or North Country too. Looking for something that's NOT Dunkin' Donuts. Also looking for good cake/pastry recommendations. Let me know if you've found anything good. Thanks!

Lunch in Lake George

If you have a little time and can make it up to Bolton Landing, The Algonquin has great pub style food and beautiful views of the lake. It's pretty easy to get to from 87 and you can sit outside of the weather's nice. I would NOT recommend the restaurant upstairs but the downstairs bar and restaurant are great!

BREAD and BUTTER IS IT REALLY THAT BAD?

I ate there on Valentine's day and thought it was delightful. It was a pre-fixed menu so it was a slightly different dining experience than picking off their regular menu but everything was pretty good. Nothing mind-blowing but it was a wonderful meal and great place for a date...except that the tables are kind of close together.

Good for a group in Galleria

I think the group is rather varied-some people eat anything and everything and have traveled all over but other people have a steady diet of McDonalds and don't like to stray far off he beaten path. I think steak would be a safe bet for everyone but a place that has lot's of options would be ideal. As far as budget goes, I think we'd like to keep the entrees around $30 or less. That's the typical cost of a good meal up here so let me know if I'm way off. We want to have a wonderful meal but aren't trying to break the bank.

Good for a group in Galleria

Do tell! We're open to suggestions and LOVE steak. By no means do we need to stay in the immediate Gallaria area. I'm more concerned about our #'s. I'd actually like to show the group a little bit more of Dallas since we're going to be stuck around the Galleria for most of the trip. Hollar at me.

Good for a group in Galleria

Thanks for the suggestions. I've been to the Oceanairre in DC and loved it but probably not a good fit since the one person can't eat seafood. Any thoughts on Tre Amici? A friend recommended it. I live in NYC and have only been to Dallas once before so I have no idea what's good. I really appreciate your suggestions. We're actually staying at the Westin so I'll be sure to check the Second Floor out.
Is Mic Cocina a sit down place? How casual is it?

Good for a group in Galleria

I'm looking for a good place to take 12-15 people for dinner on a Wednesday. The only restriction is that one person is allergic to shellfish and doesn't eat seafood. Other than that, we're open to anything. We're not looking for super fancy or super casual. Let me know if you have any suggestions. I'd prefer something that's not a chain.

Your 2010 "Must Try" List

I would have to disagree. I hit Boqueria this weekend with a group of 15 people and it was fabulous. Because of the size of the group, we were doing a pre-fixed/chef's choice meal but everything was outstanding. The only low note was the anchovy pizza which wasn't a hit with everyone. The paella, steak, shrimp, bacon-wrapped-dates, churros were all wonderful and I'd highly recommend it. Best tapas I've had in the city so far.

Catering Recommendations for Dallas

I'm traveling to Dallas in March and hosting a small family event for about 30 people. I was checking the boards for a caterer and wanted to see if there are any new options. Checking out Food Company and Two Sisters right now but would like other recommendations. Also open to BBQ and less formal options. Just want really good food and have been burned by bad catering before. Please let me know if you have any suggestions. Thanks.

Sugar-free birthday cake on the fly?

Has anyone found any bakeries in the DC area that do sugar-free cakes/cupcakes? I need to get a bunch of cupcakes for a charity dinner at a hospice. Many of the residents have diabetes and have requested a bunch of sugar-free desserts. Please let me know if you have ANY suggestions. I have a bunch of volunteers who are going to be all over the city collecting various items so location is not a problem.
