Linas's Profile

Need a wing destination in south Mississauga or area.

It might be a little out of the way, but not too far, but Wingporium on Islington, north of the Queensway, in Etobicoke is fantastic. There are 88 different sauces, some of which are fantastic, the wings are a great size and really meaty, and there isn't really any breading that gets in the way of the great flavour of their wings.

My favourite sauces include the Spicy Plum and Serpent Venom (Blue Cheese and Voodoo (really hot)). This place is fantastic!

Sliders?

I know. That's exactly what I thought when I went in there ... and it was.

Sliders?

Regular hours. Open in the mornings for breakfast. They cook them on a grill.

Sliders?

I am extremely happy to say that Sliders @ Royal York/Queensway is open! I visited there on Sunday night and was very satisfied with this family run burger joint. I shared a 6 pack of sliders with bacon, cheese and grilled onions, and they were delicious. In addition to the bacon, cheese and onions as toppings, there is a variety of condiments and sauces that are available, including Sliders sauce, which was awesome. There is much more than just slider burgers at this place, but as a FIRST visit, the sliders made my night. Definitely going there for repeat visits!

Worst in Toronto

Has anyone been to the Lakeview Restaurant on Dundas at Ossington? That was definitely the worst meal I've had in the city.

Best butter chicken in the Toronto area

Little India on Queen has the best butter chicken in the city, by far.

Little India

I have to disagree with hippotatomus that the rest is just okay. Everything there is great, especially the butter chicken, the best ever made. I almost want to ask them for the recipe, but it would probably mean they would have to kill me after they told me, as not to release their secrets.

Their lunch buffet runs 7 days a week, at least it does now, but I've been going there for a while and it never ran only 5 days.

I saw two guys in there who looked like they were going to pass out, they probably ate like 4 plates, it is that good.

Suggestions for a good Indian buffet?

Little India on Queen Street West is by far the best Indian buffet that I have been to. The butter chicken is one of the most amazing dishes I have ever had, period, nevermind just Indian food.

Where can I get good diner food?

My girlfriend and I have been looking around for a good diner in Toronto, and even the west-suburbs, without much luck. Anyone know any good places? We watch "Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives" often and salivate over the availability of such food in the US, we know that there MUST be places like this here.

I've been using Chowhound for about 20 minutes now and already wrote a review for the Lakeview Restaurant on Dundas at Ossington, if you want to check it out.

Thanks!
