Anyplace interesting to eat in Carnoustie, Scotland?
Yes definitely! Don't bother with the hotel - extremely average food. One of the most pleasurable dining experiences you could ever have, however, can be had at Ristorante Belmonte. It's a small Italian about 10 minutes walk from the hotel/golf course. I went there on business earlier this year. The Italian/Scottish owner is lovely, and the food is as good as you'll get outside of Italy - all freshly made bread and pasta, the nicest olives I've ever tasted, the best freshly made ice cream, the list goes on! After we found this place, we went every night! I'm currently trying to find an excuse to get back there, so I can heartily recommend it. I sound like an advert for the place, and I have just registered on Chow to post this reply, but it really is that nice!
