Thanksgiving in New Orleans

I will be in New Orleans for Thanksgiving and was wondering if anyone has suggestions of restaurants to go to for the occasion. I am not really looking to eat turkey or typical thanksgiving foods. Are most restaurants open on Thanksgiving day?

Essential foods to fly home

I lived in New Orleans for 5 years and I will be going down again next weekend. I have been trying to think of good things to bring back to Boston that I would only be able to get in NOLA.

So far I have thought of a muffaletta from Central Grocery, Louisianan Hot Sauce, blackened seasoning (not sure which). What else am I missing that will be easy to transport on a plane and will not require me to bring a cooler?

Dinner at Sportello--- suggestions

I went there a few weeks ago and split the asparagus salad with the poached egg appetizer, which was amazing and then also split the monk fish with lobster and the spring risotto with fiddleheads and peas. The risotto was one of the best I've ever had and I would definitely recommend getting that.

Herbsaint by far, Donald Link is a genius. I have never tried NOLA because if I want Emeril's food I will go to Emeril's.

Boston Hound coming over Easter weekend

I am from Boston originally and I think you will be more than please with the seafood everywhere.
Stanley in Jackson Sq. has a decent soft shell crab po boy.
Cochon Butcher and Cochon in the warehouse district for everything on the menu.

Crawfish

I am originally from Boston, but I went to college in New Orleans and now that it is spring I feel the need to have a crawfish boil. Does anyone know how to get fresh not frozen crawfish in the Boston area?

Or is there anywhere that serves crawfish or has crawfish boils in the summer?
