Squid ink

Thanks! I don't know why I didn't think of Coastal. I'm there weekly.

Cheers!!

Squid ink

Does anyone know where I can find squid ink (or squid ink pasta) here in the Twin Cities? I'm referring to a store not at a restaurant.

Thanks!

Thanks--Ngon!

Their food is wonderful.

anyone been to Chindian?

That place is excellent. The Tofu and the Calamari are my favorites but really, its all quite good.

The food at Reds is incredible. Incredibly bad. My in-laws love it. But its truly awful.

Good Korean in MSP

Sadly, there really isn't. I'm from NYC and the Korean available there is simply amazing. Here... forget it. Seriously. Get a cookbook and make it yourself.

Heartland's New Webiste Up

So you're saying it was salty eh? I haven't experienced it. The salt I mean.

I buy my pastrami and turkey for sandwiches form the market and they're fantastic. The pastrami is the best in the TC.

I've also purchased their frozen soups, some bread, and a few of their desserts. That market is a godsend.

Breadfruit

Haven't seen it since I left Brooklyn.

Bad service in the Twin Cities [Moved from MSP board]

Agreed. I also think many minnesotans cannot/don't appreciate service. This is in fact how/why the servers maintain their poor performance. Someone, we, accept it.

Bakery for birthday cake St Paul

Wuollet(sp?) bakery on Grand Avenue, not too far from Lexington.

Heartland's New Webiste Up

Went back on Friday. I fear this place will become a regular spot. The food is spectacular. I have to say - there's nothing I miss about the former space. I found the ceilings too low and the room too square.

We had goat chops and pork chops. Very nice.

Heartland's New Webiste Up

Had drinks there last night. The new space is fantastic.

Thanks--Ngon!

Ngon is simply fantastic food.

Minneapolis best?

I would forget Masa for sure. Bland/boring and not at all special. You may want to try Ngon Bistro. Its a nice Vietnamese-French sort of fusion that's really nice. It can be a bit too noisy inside — too many hard surfaces — but the food is good and unique.

Quiet Restaurant in NE/University?

Alma may be your best bet.

Is Barrio Tequila Bar pretty loud? Or not really?

Tell him it will be too loud.

Favorite Wine Bar Twin Cities

Bev's, downtown Minneapolis.

Good burger close to the Science Museum ?

The Liffey.

Restaurants everyone loves--except you

Masa is a waste of time/money. No offense but its bland "mexican" food for güeros :)

I can say ditto. Alma was outstanding 4 years ago... Now its good.

MSP - Bin Wine Bar - Lowerton St. Paul

My wife has been there twice in the past week. (I'm a snob and I'm not returning.) She mentioned that on both occasions the staff knew *nothing* about wine. One admitted it openly/directly and the other fumferred about.

MSP - Bin Wine Bar - Lowerton St. Paul

I completely agree.

MSP - Bin Wine Bar - Lowerton St. Paul

The ventilation system is horrible. Imagine going to a wine bar and leaving smelling like you went to Mickey's Diner?

The wine selection also leaves a lot to be desired. And the wine glasses are less than ideal

Stay home or go elsewhere until they figure things out.
