What should I have on Angeli's last night?
Had lunch there today - primarily because your post made me remember! So thanks! They don't have any seafood left, but I tasted my friend's lasagna bolognese and it was divine. Better than the pasta bolognese I had. We also had the chocolate bread pudding, which was amazing. But the best part was the bread - better than I've ever had before. If someone could score the recipe, that would be amazing!!!

thank you. i'm trying to figure out how i can do a brents type (or a little more upscale) thing without the platters being plastic, etc. so more of a catered look and feel (maybe some hot food too). i'm thinking i have to go straight to a caterer to get that and some waitstaff...

Need some ideas for Sat nite
My mother-in-law is coming into town (and it's her bday weekend) and we're taking her out for dinner on Sat. nite. I'm looking for really good food and something new - anywhere from Santa Monica to Downtown. Heard great things about WP24 (probably can't get in), Animal, Bottega Louie, First and Hope, Mozza (been there and not new), Street, Rivera. Any help is greatly appreciated!

Similar to Bay Cities is All About the Bread on Melrose, just west of La Brea. They have great sandwiches and it's just as delicious but a lot less hectic than Bay Cities.

I was at a restaurant in Whistler about 6 years ago that had the most amazing china. It was very unique and was not US made. It had animals on it and was very colorful. I can't remember the name of the restaurant (I believe they served game) nor the manufacturer of the dishes. If anyone can help me either identify the restaurant or the china manufacturer, I'd be most appreciative!
Italian on the Westside
i used to love il moro until last night. they switched chefs and the food was less than remarkable. i thought it was bland, uninspired and frankly, nothing on the menu sounded very appetizing. i wish the old chef would come back!!!
