Keansburg/Red Bank Restaurant Needed - Retirement Party

Does anyone have a suggestion for a restaurant within a 10 mile radius of the Keansburg area, that can accomodate approximately 100 people for a retirement party? We are looking at doing a per person charge for food, with a cash bar.

Thank you!

Peking Duck

i have been wanting to try Peking Duck for a while. Any recommendations where I can go to get this dish? Thanks.

Bankok House ~ Eatontown

I just ate lunch here today. Decor has been nicely and expensively upgraded. Prices are excessively high...average of $15 per entree is not going to cut it in todays economy. Lunch menu has items at $7.95...soup another $2.95....tea $1.95....salad with a mooshy tomato was included...good dressing. It appears that the lunches are ala carte - the salad was included I guess to promote the opening. I ordered Tom Kha Ghai Soup - not enough spice and flavor, and chicken pad thai which was very good, flavorful and not greasy.

I'm always open to another Thai restaurant as I love Asian food in general, but Far East Taste is a much better value all of the way around and I will be happy to drive the small additional distance to patronize their establishment.

Toast - Asbury Park

The manager is extremely rude and demeaning to her staff. Her behavior left a bad taste in my mouth. Breakfast was decent. Don't order the $16.95 lobster roll...it is microscopic and not very good.

Asbury Park Saturday Night

I would have drinks at Watermark - great ambiance, view, and creative cocktails - followed by dinner at Stella Marina. The spiedino (not sure if I spelled this right) and bolognese is fabulous. Bistro Ole is good also. Afterwards check out the Beach Bar, Aqua, or the new place Porta. Porta has a great outside beer garden with bocci ball. Have fun!

Old Forge Dinner Options

We are in Old Forge and we are looking for a good dinner option in or around the area. Type of cuisine does not matter. We just want good food and beverages in a nice ambiance. Thank you.

Wilton Manors - Dinner Options

My partner and I are looking for some good options in or near this area. A nicer ambience would be great and we are open to all types of cuisine. Thank you!

HELP - Stuck in Dania/Hollywood

I will be in this area through Monday....Looking for some good lunch and dinner options with a nice ambience. Water view a plus....something for a nice date night would be great also. We love a good steak dinner....

I definitely want some crabs also and heard Rustic Inn was good?

Thank you!

Palm Springs - 5 Dinners/4 Lunches...Happy Hours

My partner and I will be in Palm Springs from April 17th until the 22nd and we need some good options for lunches and dinners. Lunches will be more of the take out variety, as we plan on just bringing the food back to eat by the pool at our hotel.

We enjoy a good atmosphere, and all cuisines - we are a little "over" Italian and steakhouses.

Also, we are interested in attending a few good happy hour options as well.

Thank you!

Atlantic City Steak Dinner - Tuesday Night

We ended up at Dock's Oyster House and couldn't have been more pleased. We had the calamari (the best I have ever had - fresh with a light fluffy batter), chilled lobster (nice large portion), and the beet salad special (wonderful). I had the tuna, which was the BEST tuna I have ever had. My coworkers had the rib eye - very flavorful and cooked perfectly - and the sauteed crab meat entree (very basically prepared with butter and garlic, but very good).
The service was wonderful and overall it was a fabulous dining experience. The place was packed by 6:30p, so reservations are a must. I will be returning......

Unique Venue - Monmouth County

My partner and I are looking for a venue (beachfront would be great) in Monmouth County, for a late summer, early fall "celebration"; we had our civil union in May 2010 that just included immediate family and a few close friends. Our celebration will have a guest list of approximately 125-150, and we would like to have a cocktail hour, followed by a tapas-style service, with a DJ and dancing. We would also like to have an "after party" of sorts, with more dancing and light snacks later in the evening.

We have a caterer in mind, so we would want to have the option of providing our own.

Quality lodging nearby would be a plus. We live just outside of Asbury Park, and would prefer not having to drive any more than about 45 minutes to an hour from our house.

We are in the process of looking at several sites...we prefer something unique - non-traditional/no ballrooms, preferably on the modern side. We would also like to consider some beachfront "mansion-type" locations, if there are any around that would be available for a weekend event - I have had no luck searching on the internet for this type of venue.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thank you.

Shipwreck Point - Point Pleasant Beach

After wondering about this place for months, my partner and I finally took the plunge on Saturday, and we are very glad that we did. First, if you want a reservation in the dining room, definitely make it several weeks in advance.
We ended up sitting at the bar, which was fine, but the blasts of cold air from the very close front door entrance was a bit annoying, but all will be fine come summertime, and it's our fault for not making reservations...the dining room is a bit on the small side, by the way.
The bartenders - there were 3 - were very attentive without being obtrusive. They have a very nice martini list with some different concoctions...the martini with fresh grapefruit was wonderful.
My partner had some Malpeque oysters and I had the wedge salad with great blue cheese dressing and thick cuts of slab bacon - both were really, really good.
The bartender recommended a nice house Pinot Noir to have with our perfectly medium rare bone-in filet (at 16 oz we ended up splitting this), and we paired the entree with an order of the goat cheese perogies (to die for - creamy and lucious) and perfectly cooked asparagus with hollandaise.
All in all, a wonderful dining experience and definitely a new favorite of ours.

Atlantic City Steak Dinner - Tuesday Night

I am meeting some coworkers in AC tomorrow night and we are craving a good steak dinner. I don't know what is open on Tuesday's. The restaurants that came to mind were either Morton's or Chelsea Prime. I have also heard good things about Docks Oyster Bar. Any thoughts? Thank you!

Pop's Garage and Dauphine Grille Asbury Park

I have not been to Pop's Garage in a while....just basic Mexican, but I still thought it was good. Dauphin was running a half off their entire menu special on Wednesday's. My partner and I have tried the short rib ravioli entree, scallop entree, and the beef carpacchio with pork belly crouton appetizer - all were very good. The bar is nice to sit at and have a pre or post dinner drink. They also have prix fixe dinners for $30, I believe on Thursdays. I think it is well worth a visit.

Celebratory Lunch Spot in the Princeton Area

Myself and a few coworkers are looking for a nice lunch spot for Friday. Preferably not a chain restaurant - we are open to all cuisines.

Any suggestions are greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Need a lunch spot downtown....

We are staying in the Rittenhouse Square area and are looking for a place for lunch today. Open for any type of food. Thanks....

Any place serve fried pickles?

The Bond Street's pickles are very good; I'm a sauce fanatic and the chipotle sauce here is a plus. I have also tried the pickles at Clancy's, which are very good as well.

Little Saigon Marlboro

I've been to both and Little Saigon is on par with the one up North. They recently had their grand opening, and while I'm sure there are some kinks to be worked out, my meal was very enjoyable. The spring rolls and shrimp/pork summer rolls are excellent, and I had the rare beef Pho - also very good and flavorful with plenty of beef; the size/portion, was no dfferent than up north and the beef was plentiful. I also had the calamari appetizer which was flavored with salt and pepper, which was very good.
I highly recommend everyone give this place a try.

Remington's Manasquan, NJ?

My partner and I just ate there this evening. Their menu had changed for Winter 2011. There was a short wait, and the staff was friendly and decor warm and inviting. My partner had the cheddar soup with bacon - very good - and I had the arugula salad which was also quite nice and flavorful. Service was very attentive without being obtrusive. Our main courses was the 14 oz NY Strip for my partner and I ordered the bacon-wrapped shrimp with polenta. My partner's was cooked medium rare as ordered and was a bit on the lukewarm side, but overall it was a good dish with mashed potatoes. Mine was nothing special, and could have used more of the balsalmic sauce; the polenta was bland.
I must say I will try this place again. The bone in rib eye on the specials menu looked good, as well as the scallops on the regular menu. The servers and staff were very friendly and pleasant, and the bar area is a nice place to have pre/post dinner cocktail; our Stoli Orange Cosmo's were very reasonable and very good.

Trinity and The Pope - Asbury Park

Also know that on Tuesday's the entire menu is half-off. They have "toned down" the spiciness of many of their dishes on their new menu. I was there a couple of Tuesday's ago and had a wonderful meal; ask for the potato chips that come with the spicy remoulade sauce....I have yet to have a bad meal there, but I must say the beignets are dense/doughy and can be hit or miss.

Shipwreck Point - Point Pleasant Beach

Is there a link anywhere for a menu?

Dinner in Red Bank Tonight

Looks like a great place. Is it a byo? If so, is there any place nearby to stop for a drink first? Thanks.

Dinner in Red Bank Tonight

I am looking for a place to have dinner in Red Bank tonight. Any cuisine and price range is fine, just no Italian.

Thank you.

Rehoboth Beach - Good Lunch/Happy Hour Spots

My partner and I will be in Rehoboth Beach this coming Friday through Sunday, and are staying in the downtown area a few blocks from the beach. We are looking for several lunch and good happy hour places during this period, that are within walking distance.

We have been to Big Fish and Frogg Pond every trip, so we are looking for some other options. Thank you!

Fish! - Asbury Park

My partner and I ventured to Fish recently, and came away generally unimpressed. I'm assuming the hurried to get the place open, as the decor is overall bland and uninviting...the space does have some potential though.

The bar area is a bit awkward as there is a large column that sits on one end, that blocks the view of the bar as well as the TV's. The martini list is nothing special, and our martini's were overly shaken to the point that resulted in ice chunks floating in each glass. Skip the signature list and go for something basic.

Food-wise we tried the calamari - these were just okay. The breading was tasty and they were served with an aoli. The salad of butter lettuce and ranch dressing was okay, except for the fact that the bacon that was served on top was the microwave variety....yuck. Lastly, the dumpling appetizer with asparagus was the only true winner of the evening. Overall, portions were decent.

We will try again, and will probably wait several months before we do so. Overall, not impressed, at least not yet.

Philly Overnight - Dinner and Pre/Post Dinner Drink Spots

Thanks for the recommendations...my partner can be a bit selective so I do need something with a variety...and we love vodka. So, XIX looks great for drinks, then I think we may try Valanni - decor and menu looks very appealing and their reservations are wide open for this evening. We will be communiting in from NJ so we won't get into town until around 5 or 6.

Philly Overnight - Dinner and Pre/Post Dinner Drink Spots

We will be cabbing it, and will be in the area near the convention center...willing to drive for good food.

We have been eating a lot of steaks lately, so I'm looking for something other than beef...and also no Italian. Was thinking about tapas, perhaps??? Willing to spend $150-ish including drinks and tip for dinner.

Will probably end up at Sister's over on Chancellor for some late night dancing. Thank you!

Philly Overnight - Dinner and Pre/Post Dinner Drink Spots

My partner and I will be staying in the downtown area tomorrow night and I am looking for a few recommendations for dinner, as well as drinks before and after. Perferably moderately priced with a nice atmosphere...we like a variety of cuisines, so any suggestions are appreciated.

We love our cocktails - especially good specialty martinis.

Thank you!

Fish! - Asbury Park

Has anyone been to this restaurant? They had their "soft" opening on the 7th...It's located at the end of Mattison Ave, in a location that used to be a bank....The decor looks inviting, and the menu obviously consists of seafood.

Looking for a place for a cocktail this evening

I recommend Moonstruck, on Lake Avenue. Half off drinks - highly recommend the Moonstruck martini - 4:00-6:00 Wednesday through Friday (half off appetizers in lounge and restaurant as well). Nice ambience and great service.
