Commercial Microwave in the Home Kitchen?

I've lost my respect for the current crop of microwave ovens with 'features' in the electronics and on the keypad that just have me starting a process I have to cancel. For all these 'features' we are sold a microwave with a cavity that very poor microwave energy distribution, which is overcome by the inclusion of a carousel which moves the food through the unevenly distributed energy to even out the cooking.

Today, at County Supply in San Carlos, I saw a couple of reasonably priced microwaves just when it was time to go home. I was told that, no, they do not need a carousel. I did not take any notes.

Has anyone in the community had experience with an inexpensive commercial microwave that allows at least 5 power levels for use in at least 3 steps without reprogramming?

I a worried that my favorite 1991 Quasar MQS0806W, 800 watts delivered power, (it replaced a classic 1977 Tappan workhorse) will give up the ghost and I will be stuck with the 'modern' Panasonic NN-MX25 that we bought we bought in December 2003 as a backup for the Quasar.

Does anyone have an opinion?

Thanks,
