Paul Martin's American Bistro in Manhattan Beach--Yay or Nay?

This is honestly my favorite restaurant for any occasion. The food is outstanding and fairly priced and the service is always fantastic. I don't think they have round tables but the booths along the back wall are really cool. They do get a busy happy hour crowd from all the offices near by but it is really easy to book a table on their webpage.
My wife and I usually share a meal because we love the apps. so much. Drinks and desert are also really good.

Fun place for drinks/dinner?

In Burbank you might want to check out Gordon Biersch. It’s a really nice looking brewery with little fuss and a cool crowd. They also feature one of the best happy hours menus that I’ve seen. With 3 dollar brews and a happy hour food menu with most dishes from 4 -5 bucks you cant really go wrong. The area is great, after drinks you can take a stroll down the street and check out all the stores on the block; it's kind of like 3rd st in Santa Monica, minus the bums and crappy parking. Check out the website!

Eats before attending the Hollywood Bowl????

My fiancée and are going to the Jamie Cullum concert at the Hollywood Bowl on Saturday and we were wondering what places the fellow chow hounds could recommend before the concert. Or, does anyone know where we can pick up a good picnic basket?

best non-mozza pizza in LA?

Pizzarito in Marina Del Rey. So good! Not fancy like Mario Batali’s place but a good cheese slice and great sausage. Nice! Cheers, Saffron_Kid.

Best Burger in Los Angeles

I have not tried the aforementioned two but I plan to since lots of people on this thread mentioned it. I have however tried the burger at Salt Creek Grille, and it was extraordinary! They use a delicious super soft Potato Bun. The meat patty was filling, cooked over a huge mesquite fired grill and perfectly cooked to order (medium). The cheese was top quality cheddar and of course I added Applewood Smoked bacon; so good! The other ingredients included Ro Maine Hearts, Red Onion, Tomatoes and Pickles. The Burger also came with a massive pile of Salt Creek Garlic Fries (shoe string kind). The atmosphere was great, the live Jazz Piano was awesome and the service was fantastic. If you do make it to Salt Creek also get the Chocolate Ganache Soufflé, but order it early, it take 25 minutes to prepare, sinfully delicious. Cheers, Saffron_Kid 07-17-07.
