classy, full-dinner experience restuarant w/o breaking the bank
I am looking for a classy/upscale place for dinner in Boston (preferably in the area from the north end to back bay and brookline). I want something that will take more than 45 minutes for us to order, eat, and leave. Possibly small plates/tapas, or a multi-course meal like I saw on the menu for L'Espalier (but without those prices!), but really any type of meal is OK as long as it is a full experience. The really hard part: I am looking for absolutely no more than 30 dollars a person without drinks. Definitely not jeans/tshirt attire but not super fancy either. It will be for my birthday on Monday, but a very small party (less than 5 ppl) of 20-somethings. I just moved to Boston from Los Angeles and want to introduce my roommates to that type of eating experience that a friend in LA introduced me to. Sorry its so specific, I am having a hard time finding something! Any suggestions?
