Christmas Eve recommendations??
A couple of years ago, we had Christmas eve dinner at Bayona. It was perfect....sweet environment, lovely staff and excellent food. It was a romantic, yet festive environment.

Ahh,... fltdk --- you must feel my pain as I plan a food tour of SF, being from Nola!!! Burmese Superstar and Millenniem will go on the list -- too little time, too much to eat . No Indian for us, but appreciate your recs. Any thougths on Ike's Place? Need a beer from a fellow local, let me know.

Felice -- thanks for the rec of a back-up plan on Saturday for lunch. We land at 10:30 and once we get to the hotel "hopefully" we can make it there before 2pm, when the Farmer's Market closes. Any specific food recs for Boulette's Larder?

Foodeye -- thanks for your help - esp. with the logistics of the city. Will move my schedule around for the GGP concert on Sunday (we will be on island time) --- thanks for the rec. Guessing you've been to Nola for JF -- what an event! Checked the times on the Ferry Bldg Farmer's Market and we should be able to make it. Let me know if you need some recs for Nola!
Looking for a fairly quiet romantic dinner, have been to New Orleans several times.
Both of these restaurants are loud -- really loud. Pelican Club, Cuvee and Bayona are all quiet, have great food and located in the FQ.

Two Foodies from New Orleans are on our way to SF for 5 days of fun and food. We are native New Orleanians and love giving recs on food&drink here in our fine, food loving village, so I’m hoping we can get some locals to give us some help with our plans in San Francisco.
We are arriving Sat, Oct 2 at 10:30 am and staying at the Hilton on Kearney. Love all kinds of food, and can get great stuff here in Nola, but really looking for some great Asian (Thai, Burmese, Vietnamese, Chinese) Hole in the walls, burritos and anything you think we can’t get in Nola. In addition to loving food, let’s not forget the cocktail or cold beer.
Here’s what I got so far:
Sat night: Planning to grab lunch near our hotel – think we are close to Chinatown and thought maybe some dim sum. 6:30 Tix to Beach Blanket Babylon. Need dinner for after???? Maybe L’Osteria or Pizzaria Delfina and beers at Versuvio?
Sunday: Thinking of renting bikes and going across the GG Bridge to Saulsolito. Breakfast at Canteen or Tartine. Need Lunch rec once we are across the bridge – thinking of Sushi Ran, Le Garage or Cavillo Point. Dinner at Foreign Cinema.
Monday: Playing tourist, Coit Tower, Castro, GG Park, etc. Dinner reservations at Slanted Door.
Tuesday. Playing Tourist. Farmer’s market at Ferry Building, Tour Alcatraz, walk the city. Then head to the Mission to walk the ‘hood. Planning to eat at either La Taqueria or Taqueria Cancun. Is there a place to people watch and grab a few drinks in the Mission?
Wednesday. Open. Leaving late.
Here are some random places to fill in the gaps, please give me your thoughts:
Bourbon and Branch – heard you need a reservation and password?
Yank Sing (the Spear St Location – xlb, sesame balls)
Tadish Grill for the cioppino and sand dabs.
Thank you all in advance for your help.

Nom Nom Truck in NOLA this weekend: get your bahn mi on
No -- been there a few times tonight. Thought Hungry Celeste might know something. So disappointed, been thinking about it all day. If anyone hears anything let us know, I've got someone on Frenchmen St keeping an eye out.
Looking for an on-site caterer for a small crowd...12-15 people. Two days breakfast & lunch
any suggestions?
