Scarpetta, Convivio or Del Posto for Pasta
I HIGHLY recomend both Convivio or Marea. Chef White is known for his homemade pasta, think its become his trademark, and you will definitley not be disappointed. Both are very reasonable price-wise and also casual dining, Convivio more casual than Marea. Marea across from Central Park so will be a great spot during the holidays to eat, however they're more know for their seafood, which is unbelievable. Read up on their reviews. Since you'll be in the city...you should go to both : )
