Pizza in Vegas

I am a new yorker who is now living in Las Vegas. I love pizza and when in NY ate it regurlarly. In Vegas I'm sad to say there are very few pizza joints that are up to my standards. Most pizza out here is either over priced, under cooked or the quality is so bad that frozen pizzas at the grocery store would be a better option. That being said there are a few places in town that can satisfy my cravings when they occur.

in order of my favorites-
1.NY Pizza and Pasta - NE corner of Sahara and Jones behind the 7-11.
Best pizza in town(IMHO) and true new yorkers run this family owned business. Feels just like being back in NY while I am there.

2. Verrazano Pizza - Rainbow past Charleston before the freeway on the left.
Very good NY style pizza. Fair price.

3. La Famiglia - The Palms.
Usually good pizza. Costly.

I've had a few good experiences with Metro but more bad ones. They are expensive also and most locations don't sell slices.

La Torta Loca, Las Vegas

I live right around the corner from La Torta Loca on Flamingo and Swenson so I was hoping to find a nice neighborhood mexican restaurant. I ordered a cheese enchilada and 3 chicken tacos with rice and beans. My enchilada seemed like it was reheated in the microwave, very little sauce and it was dry. There was literally more sour cream than anything else. the tacos were very small, mushy and were rolled which was not what I ordered. Also very small portions of beans and rice.I brought the food back and really had a hard time explaining my grievance since the only english speaking person there was a 10 yr old girl doing her homework in the dining room. The little girl told me they would not replace my order and my money would not be refunded. They gave me my food back in a bag. I just left the food it was that bad. This experience cost me $15 dollars. Still craving mexican food I went down maryland parkway towards the university and went to Roberto's but since I was pretty much robbed of 15 bucks at La Torta Loca now I could only afford 2 tacos.

This was the La Torta Loca on Twain and Maryland Parkway right next to the Boulevard Mall.
