Need new gas stove?

I have a bosch integra top of the line dual fuel, got it scratch and dent shop, had the repairman come make it new, bosch stood behind it, no cost to me, it took a few visits, now all is well and have been happy with so far.......a cheaper route to go vs paying thousands for a range that performs.

single serve coffee--who's the best? Senseo, Keurig,Tassimo?

I have the Keurig for almost 8 yrs, on the second machine about 2-3 yrs ago, like it very much for coffee, hot choc, and recently brewed iced teas - fill the cup with ice and brew a cup very nice.......have a french press also like it the best for coffee, especially when you can find the beans and the roast of your choice- but honestly haven't used it much since the world of keurig,,,,,,,also like the old style perkalator with glass top bubbler-we both think that is the best coffee----we are very happy with the keurig coffee selections and others options with it - we order the k cups on line only----many place to get them.

Chinese food quest in the suburbs

I have to admitt that this topic has always been a passion of mine. I have thought about this question long and hard and it has boiled down to american chinese and native chinese. There are some very good american chinese but the bad far outweigh the good, and in my mind turns most people off too chinese food, and I believe IMO that this does a huge diservice to the quality and passion for authentic chinese food, from the many provinces and cultures of china. I find myself wanting the real deal more and more, especially the authentic and it kills me that not more food owners channel there passion for food than for the mainstream. Find a Hong Kong noodle in phila, please tell me. Going into a restaurant and having two menus really says it all, and when I order from the "non-american" menu it is a real crap shoot as to the quality that it will be. This is a funtion of that management. I have been a customer of Hans in both exton and collegville and when the young guy is there and his passion was going he wanted me to be happy and impressed and delighted with kicking up my taste buds, recently I have been to both again, and I have heard he is busy in town with another venture, the mark is not the same, meaning the passion to make me the satisfied customer is not there. I, like you all have a passion for great food, and this kinda gets me down. Why don't more chinese food rest owners realize there potential and kick it up? So for me this is a big bummer. Hopelessly looking for the real deal.

Hand Sliced Smoked Salmon

Stein Boys Deli in Krewstown, is a fav of mine, but since being out of the hood for quite a while, the options for what you are looking for are minimal and good at best, my pedigree is from the lox of Tranton and Lawernce shoping center Weinsteins deli- to me was the measure. Arron is probably the best if you find him-not familar with him but sounds like he is a diamond in the ruff. I even went to Wegmans in Downingtown a while ago and the people behind the counter were less than experienced - so I could help myself to the kippered salmon showed the girl behind the counter how to do it- it is a shame that even at the "fancy" supermarkets they still just don't get it. TO be honest I haven't bought lox from a deli or supermarket in over 7 years, I have found krikland/costco lox to be pretty good .....finding decent bagels is another hunt.....the price for lox at those poundage prices seems very high.....let us know how you do......

Best slice of cake in center city?

Now I do not claim to know all the best cake spots in the city, but I have to say that I have had fantastic cake at the cafe across the street from Termini Bakery- the original in South Philly.........many cakes in restaurants are unfortunately not made in house.......although some are very good......IMO Ilike the cafe the best, so far.

Rudy's on Park=== Swarthmore?

No prb Ca foodie, the soups, realitive small cup about 5 oz, cream potatoe and celeriac and cream of mushroom most all thought it was good although most commented that it was a little on the too rich side, as far as the calamari, breaded with a little heavier batter nice portion size looked like the perverable Sirachi/catsup aoli, people that is was good but thats all...... veal chop breaded -fine cornflake type breading, single veal rib chop -lollipoped-med size-little fatty but tastey pan fried - a little oily, could have been drained on paper for a minute, topped with a calalmata olive sweet red bell pepper rough tapenade-that was tasty and complimented the veal chop. all the dishes had this cauliflower floret with a heavybachemel type dressing, aliitle of a turn off on presentation on plate, a couple of asparagus spears. From a distance the presentation of salads looked inviting, although it was not close up and I cant vouch for taste. According to the website they were to have a rotating international menu, I thought it would have some caribean influenced dishes, but the specials where not that at all, so that let me down, since i very much like caribean flavors. I would go but i wouldn't rave.

Rudy's on Park=== Swarthmore?

thanks Fishinc, dont know delco that well, CA foodie you are pretty close, last night table for 6, BYOB, no corkage, small tight menu, nothing to different, all people we went with have exeprience with different dining tastes. 5 apps (4 soups 1 calamari) soupd were very rich small portion, 6 entres(2 racks lamb, veal chop, crab imperial, tuna), no coffee no desert, went as group for after dinner coffee and deserts at local home. $245 with tip. Food was good, service was fair did have to ask for water, presentation was clean and crisp, mood was comfortable, noise was mod, traditional. The couples we were with were repeats so they most felt it was good. The place was booked out, a nice sign....

another thumbs up for Cho Cho we have been going for 10 yrs. They also have excellent fancy rolls, especially spicy tuna sandwich and eel sandwich to me they are the best around, also the park ave and fashion rolls are excellent...when we lived closer we used to make a tradition on sun eves, and the same folks would be there too it was pretty funning seeing the same people for a while, and it was great to be enjoying the all you can eat rolls.
