What's on your must try list of restaurants? I know it's not great so maybe I should not have threw it in there... I was just thinking of the fact that a $10 rib meal is hard to come by that's all. But maybe price shouldn't be a factor in all of this. |

What's on your must try list of restaurants? You mean places I tried and YOU must try, or places I must try and have yet to? If I'm doing both I'd say: Tried already (in no particular order): $$ Bistro Justine (great lunch specials) Never tried but want to: $$$$ Jun-I ----- |

OMG TINI IS AWESOME and CHEAP!!! Score! I found this new (although they said they've been open since mid February) place called Tint on Parc and St. Joseph more or less. They have a Vietnamese + menu and it's amazingly priced and so fresh and good my god! Example: Crispy spinach and chicken in peanut sauce $5, and a 2 chicken or pork brochette vermicelli, salad kind of deal for $7 or meal deals with soup and rolls for a couple bucks more and soooooooo good. It made me get off my butt and write a review which I haven't posted anything in forever (although I often read other people's work) the inside is actually nice for that part of parc street and it's byob so all good bonuses. Anyhow try it our cause I know they only really just started advertising and the restaurant is kinda empty at the moment but it's so uncalled for considering the quality. Adress: 5014 Ave Du Parc Tel: 514 272-9953 Cheers, |

Best foie gras to take home in Montreal Hungary is apparently the second largest producer of foie gras in the world and of excellent quality, I called these guys and I'm going to get some from them! I think in terms of getting Goose vs Duck (which may be worthy of an entirely different discussion) I think imported is your best bet for now. |

I'm new to posting so I'm not sure if I'm allowed being negative, if so please forgive me. Last night CTV Montreal's "Raw Deal" news report aired a scathing report on Montreal sushi joints that has me irate! I urge you all to look it up and read/watch it. To sum up it basically found out that the only scammers bigger than used car dealerships are sushi joints with 14 of 16 randomly selected restaurants selling "mislabeled" items, and very obviously for their benefit (profit) and to our detriment. I even know of a very famous sushi chef (as famous as one could get I suppose) who was ultimately fired after refusing to lower his standards after that particular restaurant went corporate and expanded. It's time we set clear boundaries as to who the good guys and bad guys of sushi are in this town and purge the city of these fraud artists! We have WAY too many sushi joints here anyhow! What are the good and AUTHENTIC sushi restaurants in the city??? Thanks and farewell (hopefully the Yakuza don't come after me)! |
