Moving to West Hollywood
For adventurous food, you may want to try District. Their menu is constantly changing and experiments with a wide variety of cuisine and meats. For example, they have a pig heart carpaccio, venison rellenos, and grilled octopus. They were recently reviewed by the LA Times.

Good luck with the move and welcome to LA :)
Restaurant suggestions for untraditional wedding reception
Have you considered Union Station? I recently attended a wedding/reception there and felt that it was a really unique place to have a wedding. The ceremony and cocktail hour was in the courtyard and the reception was in the "restaurant" section of Union Station. I don't think that it is an actual running restaurant anymore, but you can hire a caterer of your choice. Our friends chose a local Mexican restaurant and had it as a buffet. Overall, it was a great, memorable wedding. Very different from your typical hotel ballroom type of reception.
Taco Caterer for Party - Any Recs?
Looks like you've already found someone, but just for future reference, I would recommend:
Sandra and Rosendo - 323-567-7445 or 323-270-5309
www.sandysfoodservice.com
We've used them for two parties already and are really happy with their food and service. They do all types of meats. We especially like their carnitas. They provide the meats, tortillas, salsas, sauteed onions and peppers, rice, beans and chopped onions/cilantros. They will even make quesadillas for the kiddos at the party, if you provide the shredded cheese. They have a 50 person minimum - but that is a LOT of food. It will usually feed more than 50 people.
Suggestions for Sunday brunch/breakfast in OC (Laguna/Newport/CM/Irvine)?
I third Break of Dawn. It's our go to place for brunch. It's a casual atmosphere with amazing food. My husband and I have tried numerous dishes on the menu and have never been disappointed.

ISO Great Food for a Party of 19
Yeah, I know. That's why I'd like to find somewhere with food similar in quality to Providence but would be accepting of having kids in the party...I'm still looking...
ISO Great Food for a Party of 19
We need to find a restaurant to celebrate my parents 50th anniversary. My husband and I would like to find a place with great food. We were thinking Providence, Lucques or Campanile, but wanted to turn to Chowhounders for their advice. Here's a few other factors affecting our decision:
1) The party of 19 includes 6 kids under the age of 10 (so a super uptight place may not work)
2) My mother does not like Italian food
3) The rest of my family are not really foodies...if we don't suggest a place, we are going to end up at Orange Hills.
Thanks!
