Confirmed today that Old Country hot dog buns are still California-K (after the Bimbo purchase), and in Los Angeles County can be purchased at all Smart & Final stores. FWIW, I also discovered today that L.A.-based Schwartz Bakery sells a number of their products, including their elongated Egg Challah Rolls, at some of the Westside Ralphs (including the one @ National + Sawtelle). So, that's another option for serving hot dogs. |

I don't! My husband and I used to walk to the one on Abbot Kinney when we worked in Venice. However, we live near the CC store now (1.5 miles away), and are thinking about ordering from there for the first time tonight. The website says: "$3 delivery charge - delivery charge may be more depending on area and size of order." If I learn anything more, I'll let you know! |

Note: For delivery the hours are 11am - 10pm. |

actually ... when i moved to LA back in the early 80's, Randy's Donuts used to call them "burritos" too ... and they came in blueberry and cherry as well. so, i was pretty disappointed to learn on my visit yesterday that they only make apple "crepes" now! ----- |

AKASHA in Culver City does an amazing prix fixe Thanksgiving meal that offers choices for vegetarians (Including some vegan dishes) and meat eaters, and includes an amazing pie buffet (including one vegan pie and both a dairy and non-dairy version of whipped cream). They take seating reservations in advance, and are open from 12pm - 7pm. The price this year is $55 for folks over 13, and $30 for children 12 and under. Happy Thanksgiving to All! |
