Kiwi berries

I get them at Whole Foods, but I haven't seen them for a couple of weeks. Maybe your local Whole Foods will have them? They're darned delicious, aren't they?

does anyone still buy instant coffee?? canned vegetables?? condensed soup??

I actually prefer the fresh pumpkin - hands down - in any recipe. After blending, I strain it with a mesh colander (lined with cheesecloth if it isn't a fine enough mesh) to take out extra water. I like to have fun with the extra water and boil it down to either use in the recipes or make up a new one (I did pumpkin pudding this year!). The strained pumpkin makes beautiful baked goods (and chili!). My to-be-brother-in-law loved our pie - and he hated pumpkin pie up to that point!

Best Instant Coffee

I like the Starbucks instant coffee - it doesn't have any of that chemical taste and dissolves like no other - it takes little to no stirring in hot water and just a little stir in cold water (it also dissolves beautifully in milk - hot or cold). I'm a big hippie, so that it's all natural really wins points with me. I know that someone posted that they don't like SBux coffee in general, but I think it may be because you haven't tried the right roast/blend yet. There's really so many that had I not worked for the company I wouldn't have tried all of them.

Before you get any ideas about me just being a brainwashed barista - I really have no loyalty to that company except for what it takes to get my paycheck. It's especially frustrating because I've tried so many other coffees out there and I have to say that as far as quality coffee goes, Starbucks may be it for me. Luckily I still keep my pride with the foods I eat - I won't touch theirs, ick.

Instant Coffee

I actually work at Starbucks and am consistently shocked by the products they (we?) offer. I'm far from one of those uber-loyal employees, mind you - I'm picky as hell. VIA (they tell us not to say instant, but you pour it out of a packet and mix it with water) is actually very good. It's all natural and tastes like a regular old cup of coffee. My parents like the coffeemate creamers, so I'd say get some of that and the VIA and add hot water - you should be all set. If you actually pursue it, though, I'd recommend getting the Colombia (orange packet/box) - it's the milder one. Oh, and try it iced!

By the way, if you want to try before you buy, just ask them - if other Starbucks are anything like ours, they won't say no.
