Vegan/non-dairy black and white cookies?
I should have been more clear - directly from their "wholesale" Bakery locationg in Brooklyn! Then again, of course you can try a regular Kosher "pareve" bakery (though they may not have as many as you need in stock!)
Still highly recommend Lilly's!
Vegan/non-dairy black and white cookies?
Lilly's Bakery Shop has yummy black and white cookies, the original jumbo size as well as cute mini black and whites... they are dairy-free though not vegan. Check out their website for some mouth-watering photos.... www.lillysbakeryshop.com.
I recently ordered a few dozen black and white cookies for a party directly from them and picked it up from their Brooklyn location.
Good Luck!
Excellent Kosher restaurant in Virginia Beach in winter! and Virginia notes
Thanks so much! (BTW is there a way for me to get an alert that a response was posted? I almost forgot to come back for it!!)
Which area are you staying in this time? We actually have our plans pretty open for our second week... and are still looking for good ideas...

Thanks for the tip... we're heading out for a summer vacation to Williamsburg Va - your idea of doing your own pancake pre-mix caught my attention too... care to share the recipe?
TIA
Turquoise Restaurant Closing (or going treif again)
Just found out that Turquoise is closed and will either stay so, or re-open as non-kosher.
Mike's Bistro - Similar recommendations?
I loved our experience at Mike's Bistro... every dish was delicious, the service was great. Any recommendations for something similar - for a date-night out with my hubs - ANYWHERE in the Metro-NY area?
Kosher w/in walking distance of Children's Hospital of Philadelphia
For the record (and those who'll refer back to this post) inside CHOP there is a fully stocked Kosher cabinet AND Koshe fridge (on the sixth floor? don't recall for sure) that Chai Lifeline replenishes often with food and nosh like yogurts, fruits, brownie bars, chips etc.
Orchidea Recommendations
I absolutely ADORE Orchidea restaurant... the presentation... the freshness... the taste!... it's simply amazing such a uniquely fine restaurant sits in the center of "typicalness" that is Boro Park... A good idea if you're anyway in the area - to try out their dishes during lunch buffets (I think its btw 12-3) all you can eat for something like $12 bucks per person!
My personal favorites: (sorry I don't recall the exact menu names) the Sea Bass dish, the "coconut appetizer", mushroom soup, Ravioli... and the "napolean" dessert (they bake it themselves - heavenly dairy custard in between a few layers of yummy flaky dough)... although I have NEVER gone wrong with ordering something new from the menu.
