mockingbird cafe basking ridge
We have had several meals at the Mockingbird Cafe in Basking Ridge. Opened in August with outside seating, offering breakfast, lunches and dinners. The menu is casual during the day, but dinner offers both casual dining and a seasonal "upscale" menu. They are offering their 2nd dinner menu, Early Harvest 2010. I had a lamb sirloin with a farro done "dirty rice" style with merquez, my husband had the rib eye with roasted potatoes and a portobello stuffed with creamed spinach. Prices are very fair and it is a BYOB too. Can't wait to go back and try quite a few other items on the menu.
What happened to the Limestone Cafe in Peapack, NJ?
Well a few months into the change, and have been eating at Jam Cafe, the former Limestone Cafe a few times a month for dinner, brunch and all the meals have been excellent. There is a nice crowd, but not too hectic. Excellent value, foods, so perhaps you should give it a try again in your travels.
What happened to the Limestone Cafe in Peapack, NJ?
We dined at Jam Cafe last week twice. It was great, and they are serving breakfast, lunch, dinner and Sunday breakfast. They spruced up the building, new carpet, paint. Menu has a lot of the old Limestone Cafe items, but some more casual (less expensive) options too. And it is still a bring your own. I hope it survives the neighborhood, it's a nice alternative to what else is out there.
Limestone Cafe?
I dined there last week 2xs and they are actually doing breakfast, lunch and dinner. Spruced up restaurant, painted, new carpet, new menus. Offering more casual dining as well as a lot of my favorites from when it was Limestone. Still very consistent and good and a bring your own wine.
