Trader Joe's Yea/Nay Thread - 2nd quarter 2012

Got em at the Arlington Hts IL store last week. They are pretty darn good but not quite as good as I'd hoped. I'd actually be happier if the portion size was smaller and there were more per box.

Trader Joe's Yea/Nay Thread - 2nd quarter 2012

I have seen these all over recently -- east coast, west coast but NOT in the midwest where I want them. Arrrghhh!

Thank you, CH!

This board is an awesome and most welcome addition! Best change I've seen to Chowhound in a long time!!

Unless you've tried the chiles before and liked them, I'd avoid or get a different brand. I tried the TJ's variety and thought they were vile (although I'd just come back from NM so maybe my expectations were too high).

New Posts feature non functioning

Still not working as of Tuesday 5:15 CDT.

Without this feature, I find myself not really having much motivation to visit CH. Funny, but I haven't missed it much.

What feature would you like to see on Chowhound?

Have asked before but will make my plea again.

When I check in to read unread posts each day, I only want to read unread posts from certain boards. Instead of having to go back to the full list of boards each time, why can't I specify a list of my selected boards? I originally rejoiced when the "Saved Boards" feature was introduced but that was short lived upon finding that opening any of the boards on my saved list opens the full board, rather than unread posts only. Why can't this be an option within Saved Boards???

Discontinued at Trader Joe's (started 6/19/2011) [old]

just saw both of these items over the weekend in my northwest suburban Chicago TJs

Add-ins for northern style cornbread/corn muffins

Dried, tart cherries

Unread posts

There are about 10-12 boards that I follow religiously and only visit others if I'm traveling, etc. What I'd LOVE is the ability to limit the unread posts area to just those 10-12 boards that I always read. It seems like this should be doable but I've tried and never seem to come up w/a way to make it happen.

thin crust pizza near Arlington Heights/Palatine

Another option would be Armand's in downtown Arlington Heights. Be sure to ask for extremely thin and extremely well done if you like it super thin and crispy.

Querencia,

Could you comment on how long you cook in the crock pot and whether on high or low heat?

I've wanted to try polenta this way for a long time.

Thanks!

Any idea how the ratatouille compares to the Eggplant Caponata? I had high hopes for the caponata but just didn't care for it.

I'm still grieving for the now retired tomato chutney!

Starter box discontinued (at least here in IL). I am completely bummed.

Add tomato chutney to the casualty list. I can't imagine what I'm going to do w/o this stuff.

ALDI Stores: Quality Products at Deep Discount??

Why throw out an item from TJs? They will take it back if you didn't like it. This policy makes me much more likely to try a new item than I might in other stores (and usually it turns out to be a regular on my shopping list). I've returned items over the years, though, and never had a problem.
