food/research suggestions for baja/ensenada - por favor!!!!

If you are into craft beer, Wendlandt Brewery in Ensenada is worth a visit. Local beers on draft and a variety of small tasty bites.

Hussong's is a local institution, a spot not to be missed. It's reputedly the place where the Margarita was invented.

Another local treat are the fish taco stands around the city, try as many as you want until you find your favorite. The stands seem to be on every corner and the tacos are only $1 each.

As many have mentioned, Laja is divine and definitely worth a trip to the Valle de Guadalupe. It's very accessible from Ensenada and a beautiful wine region in itself.

Mazatlan Summer 2014 ~ recomendaciones por favor

Hola!

I'm posting for suggestions on where to eat during my first trip to Mazatlan, most of the recent posts only mentioned a favorite spot that is now closed : / so I'm very hopeful for any recommendations!

We live just north of the border in San Diego and will be in Mazatlan for almost a week.

We are adventurous eaters that really love good food. We are not interested in tourist traps, chains or American food.

We do want to try the best local eats! From a palapa stand on the beach to fine dining, we are open to all suggestions. Anything helps!

Muchas Gracias!

Denver top eats

Thank you for the comments! I really enjoyed my visit to Denver and although I didn't get to most of the spots on my list, the one's I did make it to did not disappoint! We had a lovely brunch at Colt and Gray, my only quibble was that we ordered the bottomless mimosas and they didn't arrive until our entrees did, not exactly my definition of bottomless. We also enjoyed a light dinner at Linger and sweet scoops of ice cream from Sweet Action. We stopped in Longmont on the way to Rocky Mtn National park and devoured delicious sandwiches and cupcakes from the Cheese Importers.

Ciao chowhounders!

I'm planning my first visit to the city of Denver and am excited to check out the tasty local food and craft beer the area has to offer. I started a list of all the spots that peaked my interest and I'm a little overwhelmed with all the compelling choices. I'm open to happy hours, brunch, lunch, dinner or late night eats, as I'm going to try and cram as many spots into my short visit as possible. I'd really appreciate any feedback on the places on my list, places not to miss, places I should ax, or other spots that you really dig that aren't on my list. My most important restaurant choice is for Sunday brunch, so if nothing else, let me know where to go in the city for a brunch I won't soon forget. Thanks for your time and help!

Restaurant recommendations in Nicaragua

Hi Demoses,

Are you still living in Managua? I am headed to Nicaragua in less than a week and am going to try and visit Granada, Ometepe, San Juan del Sur and Leon. I will be flying in and out of Managua and plan on staying the night there when I arrive. I'd really appreciate any current tips for places to eat, drink and listen to good live music for any of the areas. It's my first time to Nicaragua, so any other helpful advice would be great!
Gracias!
Kim

Nicaragua visit

Hi Caffey,
Thanks for the tips! I really appreciate your feedback, it's nice to be warned of overpriced, over-hyped spots that can be avoided without regret.
I am going to Nicaragua in less than a week and am planning on visiting Granada & Ometepe, as well as, Leon and San Juan del Sur. We are thinking about staying at Finca Magdalena while on Ometepe, did you get a chance to visit the farm? Also, did you eat in Managua? If so, do you have any tips for that area? This is my first time to Nicaragua, so any other tips for the region are much appreciated!
Muchas Gracias!
Kim

La Paz, Baja

Hola!

I'm going to La Paz Oct 17-20 and would appreciate any tips on local cuisine. I'm open to everything from street eats to higher end restaurants. Most important to me is that the food is tasty! I adore Mexican food and am looking forward to stuffing myself with tacos, guacamole, fresh seafood and the like. I also really enjoy exploring the local markets. All tips are greatly appreciated. Muchas gracias!

Alchemy [San Diego]

I had brunch there on Sunday and it was wonderful! We started with the seasonal doughnuts, maple glazed with bacon toppings and apple glazed, both delicious! I had the fried chicken and waffles and the fried chicken was supreme!

One week on Vancouver Island

Hello Chowhounds!

I will be driving from Portland, OR to Nanoose Bay on Vancouver Island, briefly stopping in Seattle.

Right now my main concern is the week I will be on Vancouver Island, as I have no idea where to eat. I am very into local seasonal, fresh quality food, other than that I am not too picky. My bf is a vegetarian, so any tips for him would be great too! i am looking for people's favorite spots on the island or food that's particular to the region.

Thanks so much in advance!!

:)
