OH Sorry- I forgot to mention- "butterfly" ( flat slicing), then pound out to get even.
Place the breasts under saran before pounding- if the wrap is over the board- no mess.

Anchovies, Sardines, Kippers: are stinky canned fish interchangeable?

Anchovies are not smoked, nor are sardines. They are brined...so- salty and fishy = the taste.

Kippers would kill a Caesar salad...the thought - nah!

Roasted Red peppers, Havarti cheese, bacon( pre cooked and cut into non choking sized pieces), sun dried tomatoes- softer version- cut up to non choking sized pieces).

Extra fun- roast more red peppers, remove skin- or course- combine in a blender with low sodium chicken or vegetable broth. Until a nice smooth finish- heat for sauce to top it all off...

Best Mexican Food In the G.T.A- Richmond Hill. Newmarket. Markham. this area?

Yes it is!

Best Mexican Food In the G.T.A- Richmond Hill. Newmarket. Markham. this area?

Hello
I cannot find a great Mexican food restaurant in RH etc.

We do have a new one...at Elgin Mills & Yonge.
The food is huge in portion!
Prices are good.
Quite tasty- but a little too Americanized.

It is a confusing space. Mexican restaurant or Sports bar?
Sports bars are sports bars....if this is a Mexican restaurant- kick the sports down a notch.
The sports bar atmosphere and current music kill the atmosphere- photos could be flashed of the Mexico...and maybe some nice music to coordinate.
Dining with huge sports games on- is not a nice dining experience, nor is the music...too clubby.

The waitresses need to put some clothing on. Hooters it's not. Family and hooters?

Please fix the banquette seating - it needs to be raised- as it is not correct. It is difficult as the tables are too high for most of the population. Just make boxes and raise the seats.

Doubles?

Thanks for the craving...LOVE Drupati's!

Where to buy Authentic Soft Mexican Taco Shells

St. Lawrence Market has THE BEST Mexican salsa and food shop in the basement. They have freshly made tortilla shells- and I am guessing that there must be more! Their green salsa is fabulous...as is the rest! Have fun!

BOX WINE 2012

Banrock station: Australian- Sauvignon Blanc is good for a " grown up juice box" or French Rabbit Chardonnay...Sorry- I do not and cannot imbibe red...

They are nice for picnics...no worries.

Ferrovia Ristorante

If you are ever downtown...I suggest Toni Bulloni's....I think you would enjoy it! It's my favourite....after over a decade.

Ferrovia Ristorante

not me...to each their own...

Ferrovia Ristorante

Just went three hours ago.
Loved it! Nice atmosphere!
NOT PRICEY at all! Normal for this type of resto.
Closer to John Street.
Antipasto plate- great for 2 or 3. Lamb Shank - fabulous with the gnocchi, Pasta with hot Italian Sausage great! MM Creme brulee.... Enjoy!

Just went- loved it! Service was great! Ambiance was for anyone - cozy and nice! All ages...lots of room for parties and romantic dates under one roof. Small space - great and larger sized portions...be hungry!
Enjoy! APRIL 2012 I'll be back!

Diners, drive-ins and dives

In my business...we call it creative license. LOL

RICHMOND HILL SUGGESTIONS

This is FABULOUS Indian food- great atmosphere, fabulous authentic Indian food, family run ...patio outside permitted use by our climate. In Unionville- right at the turn in the road across from the rented church- park there and walk across the street.
Delicious rice pudding- the Mother can cook up a storm and does!
The rice was the beast that I have ever had- veges in it .....mmmm
Service is a little slower when packed - but who cares? You are being served great food in a nice place... not a take away meal.
Enjoy!

On the First Match.com Date, Who Pays?

Just went on a lunch date- the man paid...He asked if he could take me to bed ( an hour later)...I was totally offended by this. What was HE paying for in his mind?
Needless to say- the dating game will forever have it's issues. These are only a few.

Diners, drive-ins and dives

Which burger are you writing about? I am assuming the Miller? Try the Lamb burger ...for a change..the burgers were great! Maybe they changed the chef?

Golden star and Johny's are eh...bliq is better.

Diners, drive-ins and dives

Johnny's is defintely not the same as it was years ago- I think the burgers are less than mediocre.
Golden star- I like that fact that it is still family run. The decor- cute for awhile...but come on- those chairs are not comfortable. They want you in and out.
The burgers are alright...nothing thrilling.
Best burger this summer_ Miller Tavern hands down...yes. pricier and the atmosphere on the patio is great!

ISO good poutine downtown

Their Poutine is decadent, as are their burgers! Lamb poutine- with chunks of Lamb in the gravy...if you love lamb-THIS IS THE PLACE for it!

Where to find mini- burger buns or slider buns in Toronto?

Yes, I second that! Enjoy their Brisket mini burgers too!

SEEKING: Jamaican/Caribbean Restaurants - Markham/ Richmond Hill area

I was having that same craving tonight...and I have no solution to this problem.
There is a small take away place at Elgin Mills and Yonge- but to no comparison to The Real Jerk and the like.
I am stealing this one-
"As far as the best Jamaican restaurant in Toronto, I have to say that right now Fish Palace (1356 Weston Road @ Jane St.) is the best and most authentic.
I have tried pretty much every Jamaican place in the city. From take-out joints, to sit down restaurants.
This one has them all beat.
It's a nice, cozy place. The vibes and the food remind me of the restaurants I visited in Negril.
Seafood is the specialty of the house but the menu also has
Jerk chicken and pork, oxtail, ackee & saltfish, callaloo, etc.
I always order the fish (whole spicy snapper w/rice & peas) with a couple of Red Stripes of course..."- from a fellow Chow Hounder...and I will be going there to see if it is still there...

I hope that this helps!

Where to buy the best steak?

Cumbrae's is Lovely! Bruno's has divine fillet & tuna steaks to die for!
It depends what kind of steak you want...BBQing- Costco has great t bones! Never under estimate Costco meat- and chicken...and salmon.

Marinate A flank steak and BBQ it- like restaurants- price does not always mean better flavour!
Sounds good! What time is dinner? :)

Any places in Toronto worthy of being on Food Network's Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives?

That's because the diner idea is totally differing up here....SADLY! Flo's would be the best diner, in Yorkville....Fran's ( the original) is/was a nightmare.

Best new nationality of food to try in toronto, and the best place to go for them?

Toronto: Italian....Little Italy should fix your taste buds right up-- or go West ON St. Clair from Bathurst Street and a second Little Italy is there too!

Greek: MYTH on the Danforth...or Christina's
