Food near VA Hospital
Suggest Weiss Deli at 2744 N Green Valley Pkwy 702-454-0565 (in Shopping Center where Trader Joe's is Located). Great for Lunch, can be very busy.

I haven't been there, but hear Crab Corner (off strip) is good. I am from the east coast and really enjoy blue crab.

Try Carlitos Burritos at 3345 E. Patrick Lane, Las Vegas (Patrick and Pecos). The burritos are geat and the price is in your range. Ask for them to be smothered (covered in cheese).

Two suggestions: Todds Unique Dinning orTable 34. Both have specials each day. Todds is the best in Henderson in my opinion and usually has some great wine selections. Cost is less then Hanks.

Two suggestions, both are verry good and can be reviewed on the internet. Table 34 is closer to the strip, but Todd's is my favorite.

This is not a recommendation, but instead a request if you have the time. Since you are from New Orleans and if you have the time, there is a Cajun restaurant called Lola's Lousiana Kitchen not too far from the Palazzo (taxi ride) on Charleston Blvd. It would be great if you visited and reported back on Chowhound since you are real foodies. First time visitors need anniversary dinner suggestions
Prime at the Bellagio is execellent and one of my favorite places in Las Vegas. If you go there, when you make your reservations ask to have desert served to you on the patio, very romantic.

I was past Vox Wine Lounge last week and it looked like the front doors were chained and locked. I liked Vox. I knew one of the Bartenders who was a sweetheart and provided great service.
