I've also seen them jarred fancy at Lunds or Byerlys.

Chicken & Waffles

I've gone to Haute Dish for this, and will try the others...but I'm looking for a Roscoe's taste, so I might be cynical.

I've decided to make my own waffles and grab some chicken from Cub. I'll cook up some collards and maybe some yams (or just grab some Sylvia's in the can).

Fish Fry's 2014

Tav on the Ave in St. Paul has the fried fish special every Friday, "Fish Fry 5pm-Midnight! Atlantic Cod, includes Fries and Slaw, $9.99. All you can eat $11.99." but I think they have some other fish items during Lent.

In Search of... Shishito peppers

I second BigSal--Korean markets might have em.
There is a panchan
http://www.maangchi.com/recipe/kkwari...
that uses them and another side dish with dried fish and soy sauce.

Ramen at United Noodles UniDeli

wow. that is sad. I'll have to check them out soon; I know they have gotten a ton of business. They do run out of their bbq pork very soon.

Fresh shishito peppers in Minneapolis/St. Paul?

I have found them at Kim's Oriental Market on Snelling.
However, I'm not sure if they are there now.

Umami on sale this weekend - all you can eat dim sum for $30

This looks so delicious and tempting. Then after talking with friends who are broke we decided that we would go to Mandarin Kitchen for the price of one ticket. Sad to miss, but outside my budget right now!

5 Cities in 5 Days - Food Tour

As an out-of-towner, I like "stuffed burgers" and I have not found them elsewhere--Matt's is a fun experience. True, there are better burgers elsewhere; I threw in BDP because there are weird appetizers like fried pickles and spam-bites.

There are plenty of fancy delicious restaurants in towns; I love Tilia, Alma...but after I saw the bbq and hot beef ideas, I went for serious regional.

5 Cities in 5 Days - Food Tour

I'd either get a jucy lucy or go to Ngon.
I think Ngon is a great representation of the delicious local food with good beers, but as a transplant from everywhere else where jucy lucy's don't exist, I have to put in my vote for one of those at Matt's or Blue Door.

Citron or Buddha's hand

What a fantastically weird-looking fruit! I saw them at Seward and was impressed; I wanted to purchase, but it was a bit too dear!

Seward consistently carries local duck eggs from a great farm.

Dive Bars

I think the Gopher Bar might be a "good ol'boy" establishment, re:racist bar. I understand the need for dive and dogs, but I couldn't stand to be in there for even a drink.

2013 State Fair

The Mojito Lemo at Holy Land was toooo sweet; I would split it with someone in two big cups and add water.
The Monte Cristo is not a Monte Cristo. It's a deep fried ham/turkey/cheese sandwich with a side of raspberry jelly. Fresh corn dog, wild rice burger (with spicy sauce) were delicious.
Midway Men's has the coldest beer and I really like their cheeseburgers too. For $2.25 you can't beat it.
Tried the Gizmo for the first time. Unique comfort food. It's nice that they have onions and banana and jalapenio peppers right there too. Lidia of Lidia's Italy has a recipe for it and I'm going to try to make it. I had a bite of that Pulled Turkey Sandwich and it was very good too. I am going to try and make that one too.
The porchetta things were fancy. Tasty and although I got a few dry ones, they were on the whole solid. Small bag of kettle corn, swedish meatball, potato ham cheese balls were suprisingly nice.
All of these items were split with at least two people, if not more, over the course of two visits; I really like going and doing it that way.

For someone who rarely eats fried food, I love sharing a little junk food! I can't imagine eating entire portions...I think the huge portions are for mobs of teenagers.

Meritage's Tour de France

Sadly, I just found out and I love the Loire Valley, which was this last weekend. Does anyone know what the menu was?

I liked their bar...wasn't sure if it was still around though. Agreed it was overpriced but my old (over 60) friends really felt comfortable there.

Filipino? Any love

I just found the Pinoy Brunch in Circle Pines Facebook page and it says no brunch today (June 9), but I think this might be one of the only Pinoy food places in the cities...unless it comes out of your own kitchen! Some pancit and adobo....yum!....OH WAIT...I think I saw some adobo at an Asian grocery store deli...I'll try to remember where and I'll keep looking!
