Best cheap eats for a vegan?
Weird Fish has some amazing buffalo girls, hell fish taco is great too. Brenda's serves a mean ol' version of sloppy joe called the Vegan Josephine and a block away Saigon sandiwch has an excellent tofu banh mi (no mayo). I would proudly send anyone to golden era for a meal, millenium can be hit or miss, green's is good (not great), papalote for a veg(add soyrizo) taco- yum, and if you're feeling REALLY adventurous I may be friends with some people who run an underground vegan supperclub definitely worth the mention called Brassica Supperclub.
Looking for a Thursday Lunch Recommendation - Civic Center/Union Square-ish?
I say call ahead to Saigon Sandwich (415) 474-5698, place an order for 5 chickens, 5 porks and maybe a tofu for any vegetarians, maybe not... taxi on over for the pick-up, reserve a balcony view at the hotel strictly for drinks and call it a day.
