What's the best supermarket coffee for home brewing? Target's brand called Archer Farms was said to have the best coffee, this in an article in The New York Times a couple of years ago. If my memory serves me correctly, Target began buying small coffee bean farm (or contracting with the farmers) with the highest bean rating. my household prefered Dunkin Donuts or Foldgers and still like these brands but do like the Target brand better. I bought an inexpensive coffee grinder and buy the whole bean variety which probably helps. |

Possible to buy Brazil nuts in the shell? Thank you for your replies. I am ordering from the nuts.com website and picking them up at their warehouse in Cranford. Appreciate the suggestion. By the way, I love the website and found some items I like that are not easy to find in general. I had a chuckle after reading dratlover's comment. I'm ordering the Brazil nuts for my daughter who is returning from Brazil after several months studying in the Amazon River Basin. She spent a few days with Brazil nut farmers so she learned to harvest and shell the nuts using a machete for export. She was given a machete which she is bringing home with her (yes...allowed in checked baggage!) thanks |

Rec please near Fenway Park for dinner we are going to a night game at Fenway on Sunday. We would like to have dinner beforehand, at a surrounding restaurant so that we can park once and then walk to the game. Would like something nice, could be pub like but not diner-ish or street food. Will be meeting our son and his friend so would like to treat them. Casual as we will be dressed for the game. ----- |

"rustic mexican" on Elm Street in Morristown--looks like the same chef/owner as nearby Raul's Empanadas. I want to take my daughter when she's home in a couple of weeks, but wondering if anyone has been. The website looks good ( www.raulstacotown.com ) ; I'm not an expert on mexican food, just love it and a good place is hard to find. |

Grad school Road Trip - Springfield & Amherst & surrounding rec's I loved A Touch of Garlic in Springfield (Forest Park section, off Sumner Avenue on White Street) back in the day, and friends tell me it is still good, fresh Italian food. I would think they have a website if you google it. I also still crave (i've since moved out of state) La Flourentina (spelling?) bakery. They are on Main Street in downtown Springfield but I'm told they have other locations now, East Longmeadow and perhaps up in the Northampton/Amherst area. I love their rum cake and fruit cake... you can buy a slice. We are going to be up in Northampton/Amherst area this weekend as well, visiting our daughter. She is in the mood for Italian and it was recommended to us to try Carmelina's in Hadley (which we have been to 10+ years ago and liked very well) and also Mulino's in Northampton. An additional thought, a local favorite of those in Springfield was Red Rose Pizzaria on Main Street. It was kind of old school for me, but a local favorite. Since we are back in the area now visiting one of our college students, would appreciate posts of places your family visited for our future reference. good luck and thanks. |
