Szechuan String Beans with pork - Long Island

Fortune Wheel in Levittown has Sauteed String Beans (with meat) on their menu. It rang a bell so I checked the menu on line. It's been a while but I remember liking their crispness and I always add chili paste because I like things spicy.

Harissa Hot Sauce In Queens?

Stonington CT need advice

Thanks to all your help we were more than happy with the restaurants we tried.
Arrived Saturday mid afternoon and decided on Dog Watch for lunch. Standing room only. Went to Water Street Cafe and loved it. Saturday night we made a rez at Noah's. Had a bit of a wait so we had a drink at the bar. Shared the same birthday as the bartender that night so we became fast friends. Our dinner was flawless (love the Portuguese influence).
Although our Inn served a continental breakfast we decided to go back to Noah's and had a hearty breakfast. So good. Had lunch in Mystic at the S&P Oyster Co. Very festive and once again had a great meal. That evening had no problem getting a table at the Dog Watch Cafe. It wasn't bad, but probably our least favorite.
Loved Stonington and will be back. Thanks again for your help.

Thank you. Great suggestions. Noah's and Azu were the two places we had on our short list.
Bravo Bravo in Mystic is a consideration. Any thoughts? Also, where to go for the best lobster roll?
Thanks.

New Hope. Need suggestons.

We will have a car so Doylestown is no problem. Deanna's sounds good. Any thoughts on Karla's and The Logan Inn. Have been coming to NH for many years so just wondering if some of our old standbys are still good. No.9, Manon, Lilly's, Martines, Sergeantsville Inn, Inn at Phillip's Mill, Zoubi, Esca, Tastebuds?

Really appreciate your feedback.

We haven't been back in over 2 years. Staying for 3 nights in early December. Anything new on the radar? Staying at the Mansion Inn and are planning to dine there. Could use help with other lunch and dinner places you would suggest. $$$ not an issue. Just great chow.

Nassau County Italian with Good Ambiance, Food & Prices?

Sorry for MY vague sense of direction. Spasso (the PINK) restaurant is now Caffe Formaggio which is 1/4 mile East of Roosevelt Field.

New to Glen Cove and looking for food!

After reading about Zanghi's I had an instant flashback to the 80's when "Nouvelle Cuisine" was the rage. Of course we had to try it. Suffice to say I enjoyed my meal immensely. Better half not so much. Portions were very small and not at all what he was used to. Left hungry and vowed NEVER to return. In truth he was totally unprepared as to what to expect.
On the other hand Barney's was one of our favs and ate there at least once a month. It's been awhile so looking forward to seeing how it's holding up.
18 Bay in Bayville we always enjoy. Homemade pastas killer.
Pine Island also in Bayville was the best place to go to enjoy the sunset on the top floor while having a few drinks and eating some pretty good sushi.
Thanks for going back robinsilver and bringing back old memories.

Great new Shanghai Juicy Bun Joint-Bellmore Long Island!

bdr you are being way to kind. the soup dumplings were a joke. the skin was so thin that there was no way to pick one up without it sticking to the bottom and falling apart and if per chance you placed one on the soup laddle which btw we had to ask the waiter for there was little to no soup to slurp.
the waiter we had seemed clueless so the female came over to translate our requests. shanghai food? i think not. asked if they had pea shoots. oh yes.we received chinese water spinach, at that point we inquired about the chef zong connection. he's in the kitchen. would you like to meet him. sure. out comes a chinese man in jeans and tank top who looked to be in his early 30's. pretty sure he was the delivery guy. all the portions of less than mediocre food were tiny served on huge plates. to add insult to injury they charged us $14.00 for the "pea shoots". a man at the table next to us refused to pay his check saying there were 2 shrimp in the dish he ordered.
i feel for the regular customers who loved Engs. at least they were getting served food they enjoyed. this place is an abomination. we love shanghai cuisine and will gladly return to Queens to enjoy the real deal.

Long Island Outdoor Dining For Fussy 75-Year-Olds

Thyme in Roslyn has a nice patio overlooking the duck pond.
Lovely area to take a stroll afterwoods.
Must say its been a while since I've eaten there, but I thought the food was quite good as well as the service and atmosphere.

Great new Shanghai Juicy Bun Joint-Bellmore Long Island!

Hi kelvin8r, I didn't know the "elusive" Chef Zong was affiliated with PW. Haven't been there in a while,so I wonder how it's holding up. If in fact it's still pretty decent without Zong at the helm, there may be some hope for the new place to succeed. Probably a good idea to get over there asap.Hope his sous chefs are paying close attention.

Great new Shanghai Juicy Bun Joint-Bellmore Long Island!

Great news. On an earlier thread the OP was lamenting the loss of Engs. To each his own. Big plus for Shanghai food lovers. They seemed to think it was affiliated with the Port Washington place. In the beginning I was a huge Zong's fan but it started to decline so haven't been back. Sushi Bar? The kiss of death! Can't wait to give the new place a try.

Eng's restaurant bellmore li

My guess would be a place named Shanghai Palace, the cuisine would reflect the cooking style of that region. If that's the case the things you ordered would not be the best choices. If it is an offshoot of the PW place they should be serving Soupy Buns, Lions Head, Braised Pork Shoulder etc.
Maybe Kwong Ming in Wantagh fits your criteria.

New BBQ in Wantagh - Tennessee Jed's

Ranger in JH was the real deal. They also opened a place on the Upper East Side. They both are no longer there. The JH location changed it's name to Legends. IMO not as good as the Ranger, BUT still much better than most LI places. On LI Smokin Al's would be my choice.
