Absolute Best Risotto You Will EVER Eat: Toasted Pistachio Gorgonzola Dolce

I made this last night. It was just ok last night. I cooked out the alcohol, but it seemed like I didn't cook it all the out. It was 10x's better the next day.

Absolute Best Risotto You Will EVER Eat: Toasted Pistachio Gorgonzola Dolce

Hi Joe,
Do you unsalted pistachios or salted.

I like trying recipes that someone has taken the time to get it exactly right. I've located all the ingredients. Possibly the sweet onion might be the only issue. How about shallots instead. Perfect to do this while it's cold outside.

Mama's Kitchen or Mandarin Deli

Anyone have the recipe for cold noodles with vinegar, sesame sauce, chili, and cucumbers. It looks deceptively simple to make, but I have no idea what brand of noodles or sauces I would use that would approximate the flavor from that restaurant. I've tried various kinds and it tastes nothing like the restaurant.

If anyone can help, I would appreciate it. At the restaurant (I don't remember which restaurant it was now). You buy it "to go" and and the ingredients are separated and you mix it up at home. It is so good. I don't live close to there so I would like to make it at home.

Please anyone with a recipe? I would like the recipe to approximate this restaurant's dish, not some other recipe. Thanks.

Dongbei Food Comes To Chandler

Thanks. I'm also looking for good XLB. While I'm all for a restaurant trying to make money based on what the people in the community want (obviously heavily leaning towards gringo Chinese food), all I want is for them to improve the seasoning on the real Chinese food they do make. I've only been there once and know that there is such a scarcity of authentic Chinese places, I want them to thrive. If they improved the seasoning, I might have been there more than a dozen times since the first time since I am a dumpling junkie. I really haven't found any good ones, except the potstickers at China Magic Noodle is excellent.

Any suggestions on best dishes at Chou's though. Id like to give it another try.

Best Banh Mi?

Lee's Sandwiches is the only place I know that I can even get them. There is a dearth of good Vietnamese food. Someone please open another good restaurant.

A Call To Arms - Four Worthy Mom & Pops

China Magic Noodles is my favorite restaurant in Phoenix. They have improved their service too by getting rid of a bad waitress. I just hope this place doesn't get too popular that I can't get in when I want.

Dongbei Food Comes To Chandler

That's too bad. I guess they are probably adding Orange Chicken. If they upped the seasoning on their real Chinese food, they wouldn't need to dumb it down because people might actually like the real Chinese food. What is wrong with Phoenix. Bad food everywhere.

Great Mexican

Yes Gilbert is known for having the worst restaurants. Lulu's. Tacos is the only decent mex we've found there.

Dongbei Food Comes To Chandler

I like places like this so I hope there will be a lot more of these showing up. The service was very friendly. The dumplings need more seasoning. I hope it improves. I'd like to go back and try some of the non dumpling dishes.

Induction Friendly, Reasonably Priced Pots - Where to Buy in SD?

Smart and Final has some nice Nordic ware pans and pots that work well with induction cooking. They are also very reasonable priced and work great.

If you buy the cheaper thinner metal at Ikea, it tends to warp.

Best Restaurants Close By Us? (Chandler, AZ)

No. There is nothing. Moved to Gilbert and been here for about a year. Dying in this place. Very disappointing place to live. No good restaurants except a very few already mentioned. This area desperately needs some good local places, not chain restaurants. We just resigned to cooking at home.

seeking authenic Chinese in San Diego (or area)

Don' t go to Ba Ren. It had horrible food. First of all, they let people smoke in the restaurant and my kids were had to inhale it while we were eating. The staff didn't seem to care. Second, there waitresses are horrible rude and we waited over 30 minutes for them to take our order and the restaurant was not too busy. The food we ordered was not cooked properly and was terrible. In past years, I've been to Ba Ren and the food was good, but it took a major turn downhill. Not a single dish was good.
