Chocobel is fantastic - it is near Jean Talon Market, on de Castelnau at St Denis and they have a great mix of traditional and non-traditional flavours. Chocolat de Chloe is also good. |

Good food: Parc in and around St Viateur, St Joseph? Thanks for all the suggestions - we went to Damas and had a fabulous Syrian meal. "A tiny bit further afield" doesn't work when it's this cold, but we will add Biarritz to the list when it gets warmer. |

Good food: Parc in and around St Viateur, St Joseph? Hey there, trying to find a few places, not crazy pricy, for a meal this week in and around Parc Avenue, around the St Viateur, St Joseph area. So many closures, so much construction, hard to keep track of what is still in operation, so any help much appreciated. |

Singleton Visiting Montreal: Suggestions? Lots of good selections here so I will give you some choices in and around the Village, which is the neighbourhood I work in. Kitchenette is probably walking distance from where you are staying, great food that changes with the season, bit pricier than the other suggestions below but also a classier place. There is a small Vietnamese resto called Cafe Saigon on St Andre south of Ste Catherine, does good basic Vietnamese food, pho etc. You can get a great burger at La Paryse, on Ontario, burgers made fresh, there are tables but also stools at the front. And near there if you are a chocolate fan -save room fro Julette et Chocolat on St Denis. Great cafe au lait and patisserie at Au Tour d'un Pain on Ste Catherine near the Beaudry metro. On de Maisonneuve East there is a little place called O Thym. And there is a Mexican place on Amherst (surrounded by fun funky antique stores) called Chipotle & Jalapeno which is also single friendly. Also nearby is the tiny Marche St Jacques, at Ontario and Amherst, where you can pick up baguette, cheese, pate etc if you are looking for a cheap and cheerful and tasty lunch or lighter dinner. |

While visiting Burlington last year over the Labour Day weekend (from Montreal), we had the most amazing fresh donuts at the Farmers' Market, but they were nowhere to be found the last time we went down, in May. I think it was Dinky Donuts, but can find no proof of its current existence. Is it still around? Still at the market? Any way to get takeout? |

Eataly Classes - worth the cost? Thanks - the cost is what I am wondering about too. |

Have you tried Ambre on Decarie? Thanks OliverB! I live in hope of just a few great restos in the area that deliver. The VIetnamese place on Queen Mary (Gourmet du VietNam) is a recent addition but again, it's okay, not spectacular. ----- |

Have you tried Ambre on Decarie? Hello Oliver B - how was Grubz? SO few decent restos in NDG deliver, it's good to know if this one can be added to the list. Thanks! |

Ecollegy in NDG has blood orange juice from Italy right now. Late last year you could also get it in some IGAs - blood orange juice and also tangerine, but I have not seen it in IGA since January. |

Might I suggest that one morning, if not for breakfast but for mid-morning coffee, that you visit le Palet 'dOr, which makes the most spectacular croissant and especially delicious croissant au chocolat et amandes. It is a pastry I dream about often. And - one of the best meals I ever had was the tasting menu at Panache, at the Auberge St Antoine. The tasting menu is great, and each course has its own accompanying wine course. The regular menu is equally spectacular, and many of the dishes list the farm where the product has come from. http://www.saint-antoine.com/en/dinin... Oh and fyi - bring earplugs. The hotel is very old and the walls are very thin. Cochon Dingue is fine - fantastic pudding chomeur for dessert, staple steak-frites, but for my money Panache is simply spectacular, cozy and comfortable too. We ended up joining the adjoining table for an aperitif. |

Yes! Finally! I found some at the Jean Talon Market yesterday at El Rey del Taco - the Mexican restaurant that has taken over the Tortilleria de Maya space on the north side. It's the typical hard cotija cheese, in the fridge at the cash. |

Where can I find Bear Naked Granola? Maitre Boucher on Monkland always has it. |

Looking for a Farmer's Market this weekend in the Eastern Townships There is a great Farmer's Market in Knowlton (Lac Brome) on Saturday morning - local everything seasonal, eggs, chicken, beef, fruits veggies and one stand sells the most fantastic tartes aux tomates - amazing. Sutton, a 15 minute drive from Knowlton, has a great flea market/farmers market Saturdays also - homemade baked good, fruits veggies maple syrup, great homemade donuts if you get there early enough and the flea can have great stuff - Le Creuset for ten bucks, first editions of books, great old jewellery. |

Anybody see the veggie burgers called Boca sold in Montreal stores? My Dad is a big fan - he wrote them and they told him they stopped selling them in Canada because sales were low. I pick them up for him in Vermont or New York - they have every type of Boca in all grocery stores. |
