Minetta Tavern revokes corkage service

Of course I could have called, but since my friends and I have gone there several times with the corkage, it doesn't occur to me every time to call. No, I wasn't harmed; the corkage is their business decision. My point is about service and attitude. I just think it's rigid of them not to allow me, a repeat patron who brought five guests for dinner, to use my own wine this time, since I had it with me. In my opinion, other than the food (which, at Minetta Tavern is good, not great), it's all about service and attitude. Good service and attitude yield loyal patrons forever. Rigid guidelines just irritates a bit. Just my opinion.

Minetta Tavern revokes corkage service

I was at Minetta Tavern two months ago and took advantage of their $40--per-bottle corkage service, with a two-bottle limit. Last night, I took five guests and two bottles of wine, only to find out that they no longer allow outside wine. That's unfortunate, but it's their business, though the waiter didn't even know about the change in policy. (The manager came over and told us) However, being a repeat customer who brought five other people to dinner, I think the manager could have taken the high road by opening my bottles one last time. Minetta Tavern is hot now, but history says that won't last forever. It seems to me that the manager made a "penny-wise and pound-foolish decision" last night. I will not be spending $900 for six people at Minetta Tavern anymore.
