Is there such a thing ... a digital oven (not meat) thermometer?

Thanks so much, everyone. I wasn't finding these at all before.

I'm just about to pull the trigger on getting the Maverick combo oven/roasting therm (ET-85) that ferret linked ... also found elsewhere, like Amazon and PartShelf (thanks grant.cook for the latter link ... never heard of them ... they look very good and I'll probably get it from there).

My only reservation is that this one doesn't appear to have a hanger for when I want oven temp w/o sticking it in a roast ... but I'd rather avoid getting 2 devices to cover each use ... I guess I'll figure out some way to hang it!

Thanks again!

Is there such a thing ... a digital oven (not meat) thermometer?

Hi all! First post (but have read and used your advice here before) ...

I've been looking for something and now I'm beginning think it does not exist. I want an oven thermometer, to take the oven's air temp, but I want it displayed digitally on the outside of the door.

I realize this would require a wire going into the oven ... I imagine a wire ending in a hook to hang from a rack or a magnet to attach to the inside (but the latter wouldn't give me center temp, unless it allowed a probe to hang from the top).

However, I'm only finding devices w/ probes designed to go into meat and have a max reading of, like, 390F.

I'm just so tired of the round metal thingies that fade and now I can't read the numbers/needle. I don't want another one. Also, I live in an apt, and the oven has no window, so I have to open it to check the temp (killing my chances for dishes needing careful control and no opening).

Is there such a thing? Or should I just give up and get another round guy?
Thanks!
